Further to my earlier anti-farming posts, it would appear mother nature dislikes them as well. Did anyone see on the news the other night the plague of locusts sweeping through Wagga and heading south, eating everything in their way.

Seriously, havent had as good a laugh in ages. And people say there are no "feel good" stories on the nightly news.

Eat away boys!

While some of our farming practices are poor, this is a bad call by you crocodileman.

Australias economy is that of a primary producer, and while I find dispicable the actions of howard govt, a destroyed crop would not only damage the farming comunity, but would have a flow on affect through our BOP, related jobs etc.

in fact if farming were to fail, all australia would suffer.

I beleive it is incumbant on the govt to improve our farming technology and methods to increase sustainability rather than wish locusts on them.

the QLD govt under beattie did try and cut back on cotton growing and redirect our farmers in other directions, but this was stymied by Howard and the nationals.

I believe if we can cut back or shut down on rice and cotton alone, this would immencely improve our economy, our sustainabiility and our environment.
