I don't remember ever before seeing ads on TV asking to you to vote for a particular show or person for the Logies but at the moment they seem to be on all the time.

Has their been a change in rules or something, so that the networks are allowed to publicly grovel for votes? Or were they just classier in the past and didn't do it?

I have heard Norman Gunston did something similar on his show back in the mid 1970s, and ended up being the winner in 1975.
