Hi pimps and hoes.

Does anyone know what the rule is for a player put onto the long term injury list? I've seen the numbers minimum 12 weeks and minimum 8 weeks being thrown up.

Also when was Jack Grimes placed on the LTI list?

I'm seriously looking at Woenamirri but if he is back on the rookie list in 3 weeks thats not really worth it.

Whilst not answering your question directly, is Grimes still not listed as "indefinite" for a return time on the AFL injury list?

You would think if he was to be returning in the next 2-3 weeks it would be specified.....

I've answered some of my own questions. 8 weeks is the minimum for an LTI. So assuming Grimes was placed on the LTI at the start of the season he can't come back will Round 9.

So Woenamerri can play atleast another 4 games assuming he keeps his form up and place in the side.

I like it. :thumbsu:

Google. :o

One of the links set me to a news article which said an LTI is a minimum of 8 weeks off.

Poo. Why can't Joe Bloggs on the street get a copy of all the AFL rules? pah.

I found something that also said that if the club wants to long term injured player to start playing again in the reserves, then they have to take them off the list...

I can believe that. Either way Melbourne's hands are tied till Round 8.

Bah.

grimes was placed on the long term injury list after round 2, and aussie selected straight away... so aussie has at least another 6 games in him...

I had a hunch that was the case but wasn't sure if Melbourne just waited to make sure it was Woenaemerri was the one they wanted to promote.

Even better news. :thumbsu:

Yeah I was going to say, he is out injured with stress fractures in his back. So if there was ever an injury they would want to take caution with....

Could be out for a long time yet. Bite the bullet and bring in Austin. I have.
