I know its purely hypothetical and with the way were playing may not even happen, BUT say we win this weekend against GWS by at least 7 goals (a pretty convincing win with how we have been playing), does anyone on here think it would give us the confidence to not just match it with the lions but maybe even beat them and get a roll on into carlton in round 6?

Brisbane will be coming off a game in melbourne against north, who lead against sydney before dropping off in the 3rd.
Carlton will be coming off a trip to the west against the eagles (no need to say anything on their last game) and a home game against Adelaide.

I get that its a lot of hypotheticals, and big ifs, but i believe if we can get up this weekend by a decent margin, carry that confidence into a good game against Brisbane and beat them, we could, maybe, beat Carlton or at the least push them for 4. Then there is every chance we could take that momentum into beating GC, all of a sudden we're up against Richmond 3/4 possibly even 4/3.

A man can dream can't he

a man can dream, but I'd say that's all it is at this point. Brisbane are better than what they've shown in H&A so far and they generally play well at the GABBA. Watched us there last year and we didn't give a yelp really. Regardless, I'll be mildly optimistic before that game as I am each game.

I'm going to use the old footy colloquialism and say let's just take it one week at a time. Sick of thinking about the future, it's gotten us nowhere fast. We have a winnable game this weekend. Let's win it.

*Subject to change depending on this weeks result. haha

We will beat GWS by 7 goals easy. I'm going to put money down on beating them by 65 points or more.

Definately. I've though that when we beat GWS we could get our season back on track and rack up 7 or more wins.

I think it better than a dream, it's a realistic possibility

Two posters, both with less than 35 posts, agreeing on every point in what is a rather extreme hypothetical... Nothing suss

And whats that got to do with the price of eggs in china? Or did you start on BF with over 100 posts?

Now now, no need to get all defensive, it's just merely an observation, I welcome all views and opinions on this board, it makes for great debate. :)
After the last two weekends I've had, I need to make my observations (naively) positive. It's all I have :)
So in blind faith, I'm going to agree with the OP!

Your right.
Melbourne on the other hand have every beed to get defensive.
However i genuinely believe that if we do well against GWS we can carry it into next weekends game against Brisbane.
We showed we have the skills in the first half against West Coast, who have been touted as a top 4 side by quite a few people on here now we mainly need the confidence to carry out those skills

So after three weeks of getting absolutely smashed we are talking about the "hypothetical" of beating the Lions on their home turf because could roll an expansion side?

I think all these losses are messing with people's heads.

There is at least half a dozen threads in here about "why we're shit" whats wrong with a little hope? Even if we're proved wrong at least we haven't written those games off yet

I'm just going to close my eyes and hope we beat GWS, and I think we probably will. But If we go out and do a crap all over the grass like the first two rounds they will beat us. I don't care about round 5.
