Little did I know I was in for a rather large shock when I went and tried on a pair of pants at Supre yesterday.

I guess I should go back to the beginning to save confusion. Last year I was an absolute pudger - not too sure of my exact weight, but I know I wasnt healthy and was quite ashamed of myself. I put it down to depression and laziness - my highschool (Henley High, for those of you in Adelaide) was dragging me down and I just wasnt motivated enough to get out and do something about my weight. I had manic depression, insomnia, chronic fatigue - and so I left Henley and spent six months recovering. I'm now back in the education system (Thebarton Senior College) and I'm feeling much better about myself.

Last Thursday after college had finished, I went into town and did a bit of clothes shopping. Honestly, it must be very difficult to design pants for short people. I'm 17 and 4'9"! So I ended up going into Jay Jays and trying on two garments - a fluro orange jacket which I intend to buy soon (a size 10) and a musk pink hoodie which I bought (also a size 10.) I used to be a size 14 and size 16 in jumpers - and to my surprise when I tried them both on - THEY FITTED PERFECTLY! Shock! Horror! Gasp!

And then yesterday I went into Supre and saw a pair of pants I liked the look of. Dark blue with a purple stripe down the side. Size 10. Well what do you know - they fitted perfectly aswell.

I feel like I could take over the world! I'm so very proud of myself! :D

Well done. But ... you're 4'9?

I used to have a bit of trouble finding clothes that fit well, but I'm over a foot taller than you.:p

Yep, I'm 4'9! Midget, shrimp, mighty mouse :D.. etc etc.

I walked around Rundle Mall for at LEAST two hours before I found something decent. I tried 3/4 pants on in Just Jeans and they were ankle freezers on me! LOL.

Congrats on losing the weight!

I don't think I ever could try it :D.... unless they have some kind of shrinking technique!
6'2 ... however, I do have a weight problem, but that is having trouble putting it on! :D ... :(

Heh! Just be glad your whole family isnt a pack of short arses!

You're a walking broomstick! I can see it now! :p

Try being a tall, lanky ass mofo.

Every garment that is long enough, is also wide enough for your average gentleman. Resulting in major hangage of everything and anything clothing.

I couldnt really push myself to exercise.. I discovered that didnt work for me. No crunches, situps or anything like that if I didnt feel like doing it. I just cut down on the junk I was eating - note I didnt give up completely. I ate what I wanted to, when I wanted to, but I exercised immediately after. If I ate a lot of junk, it'd be a long walk or a jog at my own pace. If it was a little bit, then I jumped rope (sounds stupid but it worked).

Female. Dont think I'd shop at Supre if I was male.. :p

Just get stressed out. I weighed fifty two kilos when I first moved from Hobart to Adelaide. I was so stressed about finding a job and being homesick that I was down to thirty eight kilos in just over two months.

Yes, nut, that works too. Nothing like stress to make the kilos fall off.

I've gained 5 kilos to now be at a healthier 55kg. :D Oh and I'm around 5'6 or a little bit taller, just so you all know. :p

YAY me. :D

been there done that kid dynamite. Chronic fatigue, lhaving to change schools, putting on weight and the whole supre thing. Thankfully never touched Jay Jays but as a result of this teeny trash shopping i am now making it a rule to throw at least 5 clothes out per weekend now that i have turned 20. Never bought a great deal from Supre but i can tell u that Supre and Glassons pants are a huge no no unless u r planning to wear a belt with it constantly. They stretch to the point of no return. If u could fit your legs into a size 6 then i guarantee even the front of those would be able to be pulled out in front of u to stretch to well past a size 16. Craziness. Rather buy Target. If u want quality stuff go to Cue but thats mainly work stuff otherwise just stick to Portmans and Sportsgirl even though theyre dearer they will at least fit properly and save u only having to throw them out anyway. Pants i bought at Portmans were extremely short too short in fact so maybe u should go there.

Spidey I've actually noticed that too with a pair of Supre pants, red flares (I actually bought them in a rush to wear to work for Red Nose Day the next day but quickly fell in love with them) and they're a small size, and the legs fit fine but round the middle they have definitely stretched a little bit. They slide off which is totally friggin annoying

its always the way there because their clothes can look perfect as in groovy style of pants so u buy on impulse and because theyre reasonably cheap u dont think twice about it until u get home and they are unwearable. Funny thing is when i bought my cargos from there (which is ok as i was planning to wear them with army belt only) i said to the lady i really dont know how i am going to keep these on and she told me to get a smaller size but theyre already like an 8 so anything else i couldnt fit my fat legs into. Preteneded she didnt know wot their pants were like. I just felt sorry for all the other little girlies buying them who arent aware of wot theyre like! Same goes for Glassons whos frikken zips break in every pair u buy from there but thats another story in itself!

Thats why I refuse to buy pants at Supre. They're just badly made. I would rather spend over $100 on a pair of good pants that last rather than spend $50 on a dud pair from Supre. Actually I pretty much refuse to buy any clothes from there, it's just crap pretty much. I would only buy the little tops to wear to the gym.
