Lost Licence

I have misplaced (not taken off me) my P's - does this mean I'm not allowed to drive?

I always thought you just had to produce your permit to the police within a week if you were pulled over without it. But I'm hearing stories that it's a huge find and 3 points!

The new one is ont he way... but until then?

You will get a fine if caught not showing your P plates and will loose 3 pointsbut for the time being just make your own and write them on a bit of paper until your new ones arrive

Go to your local Vic Roads place and pick up a temporary one.

There is a new licence in the mail!!

I still display my plates when I drive - just don't have my actual permit.

when you went to get your new one that's in the mail they should have given you a temporary one... if you don't have that i would advice you not to drive, cops pick on "p" platers a little too much for my liking....

Yetsla,

You should have asked for a temporary licence whilst you are waiting for your new one to arrive, otherwise you can't drive.

I would suggest that you have taken reasonable steps to comply with your responsibilities. Who are you to know that they should have given you a temp. pemit. I reckon worse case scenario would be you'd have to produce your licence at the local cop shop when you receive it. If it was me, I'd be driving.

me too, what are the odds of getting caught over a few days, tho if it were me i'd prolly get caught knowing my luck
