This is a minor one but Lukas Webb isn't getting a game at the Dogs and would probably suit Essendon's needs perfectly. What would be required to get the trade done? Last couple of years the Dogs traded players like Hrovat, Stevens and Talia for late picks. Would pick 61 get it done? Who else would be interested?

Worth more to us than what we would get in a trade. Pick 61 sounds about right unless there's some decent interest from his home state which would bump that to a 3rd rounder.

His home state is Victoria ...
But you're right that losing him for a late draft pick would be pretty useless and worthless to us.

Both Adelaide and Gold Coast had a shot last year....pick in the early 20s was offered ! dont think after that we would take less because he hasnt found a spot yet..

Difference this year is that he is uncontracted. If it is true we were after him (didn't hear about it), can see us going in again I imagine. Especially if he is out of contract.

Where did you hear this? I'm keen.

Where is his best position? I've seen him play great footy down back and up forward.
We're all a little confused on our board. We all really want him at half back to take over a Matty Boyd type role but the club seem hell bent on developing him as a mid. Still not sure whether that means that's where they see him long term or if it's to add extra layers to his game to become a more complete player.

I reckon will replace Murph / Boyd at years end. Valuable player for us going forward

He has some AFL standard attributes and some not-so-AFL standard attributes. Fantastic overhead, brilliant left foot, good pressure and can rest forward. Flip side, very slow, can't find space/uncontested ball and is yet to nail down an exact position. He's yet to put it all together in a particular role at AFL level, but has shown some signs as a mid/forward and regularly dominates at VFL level.

Realistically, he wouldn't attract much in a trade. I very much want to keep him, but him leaving for opportunity is very possible.

Hopefully he signs on.

Probably wouldn't go down too well with a lot on our board but I view Stef as slightly over rated and with the Dogs still in a flag window I think he would be a good fit for you for 2-3 years, and I am a fan of Webb + pick 39 could come in handy to match a bid on our academy tall Connor Ballenden.
