just wondering how Luke has been going in this preseason, i know he hasnt played much, but will we likely see him in round 1 or has another youngster taken his spot?

that would be a shame because i feel he is a really talented young player and i wouldnt mind him running around for the Pies!

how is Dempster going? with Saddington out, is he likely to get a run in round 1?

Depends really. Things point to him playing but the Swans even with 3 or 4 regular senior players missing are struggling to fit the available player into a team of 22 we are so well off depth-wise

The opposition wasn't too flash though, was it?

He won't play round 1, with only one pre-season run under his belt. Roos is agonising over selecting Crouch with the same preparation and Crouch has a far more established role in the team and is a proven, consistent senior player.

Ablett played some good senior football last year but he also played some very ordinary games. He'll get a chance in the senior team sooner rather than later but then needs to deliver more consistently if he's to make the spot his own.

If he can step up it would be a massive boon for the Swans though. I think he can play but it has been so frustrating watching him struggle to make his way at the top level.

Havent looked at your team and who is available but unless youve got depth i didnt know about surprised if ablett and crouch both dont get a game. interested to see the final line up ...

your looking good if you have that much depth, though as ive outlined a number of your youngsters are battlers lol

Ablett's only played one pre-season game - last weekend. Roos has pretty much confirmed that Crouch has enough runs on the board to win himself a spot with that limited preparation but Ablett doesn't - and he hasn't been named in the squad, even as an emergency.

As far as "depth goes" Bevan and McVeigh are also likely to miss out.
