I don't agree with everything he says, especially his ludicrous suggestion that we lost the flag in 1997 by not doing the Leading Teams thing.

But he's a much better commentator/pundit than many others in the media. Give me him over knob'ed's like Brayshaw or Hamish McLachlan and Basil Zemplis.

Also, he's a ripper bloke who loves the club to pieces and stayed loyal to us during some very testing times. Oh and he was a very good player also.

So yeah, Luke Darcy :thumbsu:

Don't rate Darcy quite as highly as others but he was a very good player for us and clearly a Dog's man so full respect for the bloke. AFL media has far too many ex-footballers and not enough genuine, good quality callers and journos.

Him being a former player doesn't impact my opinion on him as a commentator. I think his commentary is horrible.
I don't want to eat his children. I'm sure he's a lovely person. But i don't want to hear his commentary.

Luke Darcy is the least of Channel Seven's problems. Just look at Lin, Kirk or BT's commentary style. Or what about the coverage in general From camera angles to no high definition broadcasts. Seven are a joke.

Has anyone seen the pre-game and post-game shows Fox Footy are doing? It's brilliant.

Totally agree - how shit is the 7 coverage in particular the over use of close-up cameras.

Who gives a shit about trying to 'wow' people with all sorts of bullshit angles, just keep it on the normal TV angle so we can see what is happening.

There were so many times in the Adelaide vs Freo SF where you couldn't tell exactly what was happening cos they were ****ing around with it so much. GRRRR.

He was very good and refreshing the first few years in the media but has seemed to get a bit stale and starting to get a walls type of reputation with all supporters.

As a player i think some people forget how good he was at his best.

At his best he was the players MVP. Something that only the likes of Gary Ablett wins these days.

Personally I don't understand the hate for the bloke, he seems pretty well spoken and professional IMO.

There are a lot worse ex players holding down a gig in the media atm.

His opinions seem to be what get people (and his tendancy to trot out meaningless cliches). I generally quite like him. Unlike Richo, Ling and Kirk he is relaxed and confident on screen and can string a sentence together. I thought the article about Wallace was bizarre but it's a blip on the radar all things considered. It was clear when he started doing special comments while out of the game with his knee injuries where he was headed and good on him for making the most of it.
