Lets get him at the end of the season. Could be the answer to our tall forward crisis and could be a reasonable price compared to others who may be on the market like kozi.

Would think a second or third rounder could land him and even better if he is out of contract in the psd.

Was very impressive against richmond on the weekend, reads the play well but most importantly has a great set of hands and is a beutiful set shot from 55m out inwards.

With Adelaide having so many good forwards such as porplyzia, burton, douglas, tippett, hentchsel (to come back), goodwin and dare i say it flipping SCOTT THOMPSON!! (did anyone see the reply before the game on the big screen monday? Thompson killing it in the red and blue, made me so depressed).

Jericho only seems to get a game when there is an injury or a suspension and could be looking for a more permanant role and i would love for that to be us. Even James Sellar could be worth looking at.

Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that Jericho sucks, despite his recent form.

Yes i would have said that before his games this year as well. But he would only be on around 150 -200k i would think. Pretty inexpensive risk to take compared to your kozi's.

Daniel Bell for Luke Jericho.

Or Luke Jericho and our second round pick (24 - 33) for your second round PP (pick 18)

sellar + jericho for your first rounder?? :P

OR

jericho for a 2nd rounder

*runs for cover*

forget the first rounder there is no way in hell we give that up.

make it third and fourth rounder for jericho and we have a deal.

crows fans do you know if he is still under contract at the end of the year? And what sort of money is he on?

cheers

He's not really a tall forward though, he's more a medium sized player who is injury prone and only really seems to kick goals when they are up and running. I wouldn't want him at all (all though a loan of him for the rest of the season would be ok).

hahah tongue was firmly in cheek.

i hope his form continues throughout the year cos he'd be good trade bate for us.

as it currently stands, id be happy trading him for an upgrade in our 2nd round pick as we have him covered with up-coming fowards / wingman.

however if he keeps kicking bags of goals, then it would be a waste trading him away after 6 years of underachieving crap

Contract would be up this year and wouldn't be on much (just above the league minimum wage)

He is a poor mans Russell Robertson.

russell robertson was a poor mans russell roberston this year.

i would say jericho at least has 7 years left in him as aposed to robbo who may be finished god forbiding.

With all due respect to Luke Jericho he may be finished at the end of this season.

I was talking in terms of talent - not a great leap and mark (but good) and a less than adverage set shot. As a 3rd or 4th forward he would be good but would be a crap number 1 forward line player. He would be smashed every week on the better defenders.

But i like Luke Jericho - but hes not that number 1 forward line player you need.

I commend your idea, some stuff out of left field could be just what we need to do this year, but i don't think this is it.

And you seem to be really pushing sh!t up-hill with the idea because you can't even get any support from crows fans.

I really don't think Jericho is the man for us, he's not big enough to play KP and he would just add to our glut of players around about 192cm. Bate, Dunn, Garland, Newton, etc. Except that he's shorter and older. And not as good as any of those (i'll hold judgement on Juice until he's played some more, but he's got much greater potential).

Jericho = Dud.

Don't even think about it.

Thanks for sorting that out for me:thumbsu:

why do people think im saying hes going to be the messiah? Im saying for a guy on 150-200k a year he would be handy.

we have miller, he is on higher pay than jericho and we gave up a 2nd round pick for p.j which hasnt exactly been a brilliant move either.

Im talking about taking a calculated risk on a player with potential for a small risk money wise and trade wise.

It's not about him being the messiah, as i said above i don't think he's anything we don't already have in Bate, Dunn, etc, except that he's older.

It's not even about what we'd have to pay him, i don't think he's worth giving up the chance to draft a young kid, so i wouldn't give up any picks inside the picks we want to use. If there's no one better in the PSD then he might be worth a chance, but even then i'd be sceptical as he is too similar to other players we have.

Not big enough for a KPP we already have wona, Maric, Davey along with Robbo, Slyvia, Bate & Dunn. We need big Key forwards more

Whose spot would he take in our forwardline?

Thanks, but no thanks. Isn't the answer to our problems. So he kicked 5 against Richmond, and 4 against Carlton. In a good team like Adelaide he will flourish, in a sh*t team like Melbourne he will be a nobody ala Dunn or Newton.

Isn't Mark LeCras from West Coast a Victorian? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he's definitely worth a look. Not a tall by any means but he can play up forward, in the middle and has been injured for the majority of this year. I think WC rate him highly but I think we could get him for the right price...Maybe....

At the moment for next year with Robbo under an injury cloud, Holland to have retired and Neitz already retired, Juice is the only genuine goal kicking full forward on our seior list (Zomer on the rookie list could count). If you look at our other tall positions we have Miller and Bate at CHF and Rivers, Warnock, Carroll, Garland and Frawley down back, along with Martin and McNamara. In the ruck we have White, PJ, Jamar, Meesen and big Spencer on the rookie list.

What I'm saying is that it is definitely a position that the club would be justified in trading for, especially because we look to have a list under 25 who can play some good footy. We could get a Buddy/Roughead combo but even they will take 3 years to be playing consistent good footy at the best, and most likely closer to 6. The question is who can we get who is cheap but also can be a goal kicker. Tim Boyle is the first who comes to mind but maybe we could go with someone younger with more upside.
