As an overage player he's never really been high on anybodies radar (didn't play champs, etc.) but the way people can ignore him and then talk up players like Temel as a 'steal' is baffling.

He's got a deadly accurate kick, and he's got very good hands, and a pretty decent leap on him, and he's a good height. Some claim he's only dominating because of size/strength advantage due to his extra year of age, but his style isn't based entirely on being bigger than those around him (ie. Temel) and I personally think it will hold up okay in the AFL - he spends more time out leaping his opponents, reading the ball better, or splitting packs than he does just physically dominating his smaller opponents in a 1v1.

He seems to have a bit of a lack of pace, but I can't see it being a huge issue for him if you just played him down at FF - he seems a contested marker, not a leader.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure if there is any vision of him online, if anybody has some, feel free to post it in the thread.

Couldn't agree more Spluff. McDonald is a superb reader of the play and, as you say, he doesn't just rely on his size. Overage players can be a bit under rated and I agree that McDonald is at least as good a prospect as Temel.
