Luke McEntee?

For those who have followed his progress at BH, how's he coming along?
He was always regarded as a project player and is now in his second year on the rookie list, has he shown enough to persist with?

Also
At the end of this year, his second on the rookie list, are we required to either elevate or delist?

Havent seen him at training for a couple of weeks but prior to that was starting to look the goods.

Still does not have the upper body strength to match a Taylor or Campbell at boundary throw ins but at least now looks more like a ruckman than last year.

Rated by those in know as potentially the best "tap" ruckman certainly in our group and within the league as a whole. Big word potential but he has it.

As regards the future.... as a rookie its a two part agreement. He has to agree to remain a rookie, which isnt a bad option or he can try his luck in the draft and being an ex South Aussie you never know, or we can sign him up before draft time.

Depending how happy he is here, I hope they draft him or at least keep him a rookie.

Elivate him, then on-trade him to stkilda i think, they really need a good ruckman, and MCEntee is a perfect option for tap-ruck duties

I have seen a few of his games at BH both this year and last year and he certainly looks a lot bigger and stronger this year. His ruck work is fantastic at both ball ups and throw ins but he really excels at the centre bounce. His leap is amazing he regularly jumps over top of bigger opponents. His skills are sound, he's really good wih quick hands in tight and his kicking is also pretty reliable. He has really impressed me when the ball is on the ground for a big guy his agility is great and he wins a lot of the ball at ground level. His marking is the only concern for me, haven't seen him take big pack marks and his positioning when playing a kick behind isn't great. He can mark the ball but just doesn't get to the right spot often enough for me.

Definently worth perservering with and I would like to see him elevated, Gibson won't be and the other 2 boys will be retained as rookies with both having slow starts with injury. What I've seen of Renouf I think he will be a key defender not a ruckman, so that would give us Campbell, Taylor, Bailey and McEntee which looks like good ruck depth.
