Hope you dont mind me posting in hear.Well hopefully Luke makes a good recovery and is firing for the dockers this coming season.I hate to see any player go down with a serious injury.

He's got to prove himself with Subi first, but lets hope all goes well with his recovery and there are no lasting medical problems.

Unfortunately he might have been passed by some of the youngsters on the list for putting their hand up for a game. eg. Cunningham.

Yes I know that Luke has to prove himself with Subi. But there is one problem and that is the ground staff at Subi have done nothing to fix up that rock hard surface where u can do a knee by falling over.

He is such a great player and I am sure that Chris Connolly does not want to lose him at all!!!

I think Masai meant Luke has to prove himself with the Subiaco Lions (the WAFL club Luke plays for). Not the ground. :)

That's if he will keep on playing for Subiaco Lions. He probably will but it's the ground that is the problem. It is too hard for anyone to play footy on.

I think that if Luke plays for a different side in the WAFL like Claremont or East Perth, which is closer to where he lives mind u!!! He should be right. He might even take the ground staff at Subiaco to court over the serious injuries he has had.

Are you on drugs? Toia has about as much chance of successfully suing the Subi Oval groundskeepers as I do. It looks like you need things spelt out for you, so - read slowly now - those chances would be NIL.

He fell on his head after leaping six feet in the air. Nothing the groundskeepers could have done would have prevented an injury.

Toia is an unlucky bloke but it should also be recognised that he is a LIABILITY. He is gutsy and fearless but he wasn't/isn't a matchwinner. Let's not let sentimentality totally cloud our vision.

Yes and the ground staff are responsible to keep the ground in great shape.

To answer your first stupid question. No I am not on drugs. I am related to Luke.

The first injury that he had was a total knee reconstuction which happened in round 17 against the crows at Subiaco in 1998.

At the end of the 2000 season he did his elbow playing for Subiaco, landing on the rock hard surface after being bumped by a player.

He reinjured that elbow in round one of the 2001 season in the same spot when he was playing for Subiaco, playing against Carlton in a thrilling game.

Then during the middle of the year whilst playing for Subi he landed awkwardly on his neck fracturing two of his vertibrae and crushing a vertibrae. He also broke his neck.

He has every right to sue the ground staff for all of those injuries and he would have plenty of support from other players from other clubs who have injured themselves on that ground.

Ya gotta get off the drugs Suzi.

Seriously, I'm worried about you man.

By the way, it's great how you seem to be related to all these footballers (as well as best buddies with Ken Judge).
I heard drugs can cause people to hallucinate. :p

The Subiaco Oval had been subjected to all sorts of tests, penetrometer readings and the like, and has been passed as fit to be played on by the AFLPA. It is a beautiful bit of carpet.

FYI Toia hyperextended his elbow in a Fremantle intraclub game at the beginning of last season - bending it around young Hayden. When he came off, he took off his jumper and he looked to me - seated about five feet away - to be carrying fat and to be out of condition. What part did the playing surface play in that injury?

Say what you like - and I have no doubt you will - the ground is not responsible for player injuries. You seem to be the sort of person who would sue the Cottesloe town council for getting dumped when bodysurfing. The sort of person that I call idiot.

Volenti non fit injuria - look it up.

Suzi, there is a legal term called 'Volenti Non Fit Injuria." Which basically means Voluntary Assumption of Risk.

He knows the risks with playing and he knew the ground conditions, therefore by him choosing to play, the groundspeople have no liability and it would be futile to sue.

That's what I think anyway

Stop the bitching.

I asked a simple question which some of you have decided to make up things by either saying I am on drugs.

I don't believe ur rubbish and I think that you should stop it right there right now.

If you think that u can get away with teasing other people, well think again.

If you want to call people 'Smartarses' have a look at what you posted in the first place and think twice before you post something.

Don't be rude either

Ladies and gentleman, I believe we have stumbled upon a totally new species.

Perhaps if we ignore it, it may go away.

I though all the species had been discovered, but somehow they keep suprising us!!! Unbelievable. The problem with this one is that she is serious:eek:

Ok Suzi, a thousand and one apologies, for whatever the hell I said!!

Ahhh, the famous Suzi Olsen at work.

Better take her seriously boys, she's friends with KJ and she's also related to Luke Toia...OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Impressive Stuff!

HAHAHAHAHAHA...whatever Suzi! :p

I saw this person mentioned on the Eagles board and had a chuckle to myself, but she's now come to haunt us. I never thought I'd take an Eagle supporters advice ...... you can have her back Visro.

Look Luke stuffed his neck up by falling from a great height, not the grounds fault. If we want to sue why don't we go for Sherrin? (ball was high in air), Swans players (mugged him), both coaches, boot makers ........

Which ever way you look at it, this injury aint the "green things" fault. I think look accepts this, but his future at Freo is murky.

Personally I think you are both wrong in some way.

It was both the surface and Toia himself who caused the incident.

He was stupid to jump to such a great height in such an unrealistic marking position. So that is the part he played.

But if the surface wasn't as hard as it was the injury wouldn't have been as sefere as he wouldn't have hit the ground so hard.

Ahh well. lol.

Cheers.

Well I am related to him.

He is married to Debbie Stewart in WA

So, you mean he lives closer to Claremont and East Perth compared to Subiaco?

I think you need to lighten up a little Suzi
There is quite a rivarly going on between the Freo and eagle board.
And regardless of the topic if you post on this board as a eagle supporter you have to understand that FRIENDLY flack may occur.

The suggestion that you were on drugs was purely with the tounge firmly in the cheek.
Easy tiger.........
