How is this guy not in the team every week? Every time he gets run he shows what a classy player he can be.

Of all our young uns, I think he probably has the most raw talent of the lot.

Reads the play exceptionally well and is very versatile, can play forward, on ball, tagging roles.

I can see him developing into a Bruce like midfielder with the ability to go forward and be very dangerous.

Agree & his goal running off half back with a one two then drilling it from 50 metres was pretty great to see, then getting a holding the ball desicion his way and kicking from 40, looks like a composed player.

I keep an eye on when he plays, because he used to play for my old club back in 2004 :)

Same height as Cam Bruce and may turn into a similar player, just with a bit more willingness to put his head over the ball. :)

Always getting him mixed up with TJ, the hair cut and running styles are similar.

Oh man I loved his goal from 50, the one-two then ran around McMahon and nailed it.

For a guy his height he has excellent mobility, we've certainly managed to pick up a gem here.

Bate, Newton and Dunn in the same draft, I'd argue we did better in the 2004 draft than any other club.

Playing him outside the forward 50 was one of Daniher's decisions - he always wanted Dunn to be more versatile due to his great ability at reading the play. Some good performances in the upcoming weeks and another pre-season will do him the world of good.

Those three have a lot of potential and are the future of Melbourne.

I think Newton will be the best of them all. Once he gets his confidence and starts leaping on heads.

Once Newton takes a speccie on Sandilands with his feet on his shoulders, THEN I'll say that he's reached his full potential. As for Dunn, perhaps another beauty found in the draft. He does look like a very natural football with a fair bit of confidence now. He currently uses the ball very well so the quality side is right up there. If he increases the quantity he could turn into an elite midfielder.

Now you mention it MM he does actually use the ball very well.
He's always been very mobile, if he becomes a top line midfielder with a bit more muscle he'll be very hard to stop in the centre.

He's got the best skills out of him, Bate and Newton in my opinion. He's also more suited to the middle than Bate who I think will make a fine half-forward.

Showed again last night just how versatile he is, starting in the midfield then went down back and held his own in a spot he has rarely played. The goal in the first quarter just oozed class.
