Ok, lemme get this straight. Before buying this game a few weeks back, I was a total noob when it came to American football. I mean, I knew of a few teams, I knew about New England Patriots thanks mainly due to Family Guy. I knew the Philly Eagles cause a girl I know over there follows them. But after playing for about 5 minutes, I am totally hooked and actually understand MOST of the basics.
So anyway, this is 1st year of Superstar mode. Basically its me. I'll do a quick summary of the pre-season
Profile
Name: Jim Chezwick
Age: 21
Height: 180 cm
Weight: 215 pounds
Position: HB
College: Penn State.
Notes:
Jim has inhereted his fathers natural pedigree when it comes to playing in the HB position. Both his parents have above average IQ's.
Pre-Draft:
One month before the draft, Jimmy Powers became Jim Chezwicks new agent. Given he was the only option for Jim at the time, he doesn't have access to the performance institute.
He made his first appearence to the world of professional football on ESPN's Sports Centre.
Jim was asked where he believed he was heading to, answering it to be too hard to predict the draft, even for experts.
When asked whether he'll be a better player then Reggie Bush, he replied only time will tell.
When asked what number he will be wearing, Jim responded by saying it was only a number.
Work out results
Jim trained very hard on the 40 yard sprint finishing with a good time of just over 5 seconds.
Jim exceled in the ground attack, reaching gold level in the set amount of time.
Jim also excelled with the kickoff return, gaining major ground with each kick off
Jim scored 90% on his IQ test
The Draft
The biggest day of Jim's professional life. Jim is taken pick 22 of round three.....
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS!
Post Draft, Jim was apparantly quite excited to be playing along side three time Superbowl Winner and 2005 Sports Illiustrated Sportsman of the Year winner, Tom Brady.
Pre-Season Games:
Despite promising training sessions, the Patriots finished up with 1 win and 3 losses during the pre-seasons.
In week one, the Pats dominated possessions to lead Atlanta 13 -0 at Half time, before the Falcons fought back to win by 1 point, 13-14 to the Falcons.
The second week saw the Pats play the Cardinals and a very lackluster performance, the Pats losing 21-0.
Adding Jim as the secondary HB for the Pats saw Jim score his first touch down in League football against the Redskins. In a classic match, the Redskins led by 3 with minutes left in the final quarter, before a 4th down 31 meters out saw the Patriots tie the game up just before full time.
Into extra time, the Patriots score a 44 yard Field goal to win the 17- 14 (I think)
The forth week saw the Patriots come in confident after the couragous win against the Redskins, facing the New York Giants. The Giants got the upperhand scoring a touchdown minutes into the first quarter, before the Patriots responded almost immediately. Once again, the second half saw the Giants run riot, scoring 2 quick touch down. The Patriots put in a brave effort, but went down 28-20.
So thats my first post. Will be sticking with this diary for some time I could imagine. Really getting into this American football thingy
Any advice on how you'd like to see presentation or anything, feel free to PM me or leave a message here
