Madden or NHL

I was thinking of getting one of these games (2002 versions) as they have come down in price at my local EB to $49 due to the newer versions coming out soon. Havn't played either of these types of games before but have always been interested in them. What would you suggest would be the better buy?

Get NHL 2002. In my view, its the best sports game ive played.

Macca, the career mode in Madden is a hell of a lot better than NHL in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love NHL to death, but the career mode just isn't that great compared to other sports games.
i_luv_westcoast it depends on what type of game you're into. Both are exceptional games, but NHL has become a bit to arcadey recently for my liking which is why I'm picking up NHL 2k3 as well as NHL 2003 this season

Oh, another great thing about NHL 2002 though on PC is there are a number of skins and real stadiums out there on the internet that you can import into the game

If you can hunt down a copy of NCAA Football you can link that game and Madden together and recruit a player out of High School and progress him through college and into the NFL

Screw those two, go for Madden 2003 (out Thursday).

Oh and career mode was mentioned, Madden has the greatest career mode ever.

You can play 30 years in its career mode, and with the new features in this version, you have the ultimate drafting experience as well.

Ewok, have already done that, got both NCAA college football 2003 and Madden NFL 2003 and do exactly that. It really opens up the game imensely in that you can indeed get the players firstly through college and then import them into Madden and draft them. It's easily the best game to game inclusion ever.

Yes works on PS2 too

NCAA isn't available in Australia and you have to order from the US, Madden would be in your local K-Mart!
