I could see why a side pushing for a flag would offer it but why us? Why not get another highly rated youngster whose development will be at a similar level to the vast majority of the side?

We're a rebuilding side.

The only players I'd want to trade for would be either not worth pick 4 alone, or just not worth pick 4, orrrr already off to the Gold Coast/would never be traded. Please Woosha, just keep it, don't pull a Fremantle.

I dont mind the idea, we have a team packed full of <21 year olds, so why pick up a 17/18 year old when we could trade it for a good established 21 year old which would fit in smoothly with the current age bracket we're trying to establish.

we have a heap of kids.......if we can get a solid young player under 24-25 go for it. We could pick a dud at least this way you know what your getting.

reasonable request to throw the pick out there and see if opportunity knocks .

Would hate to be caught in a Croad like deal so the recruiters should be wary and tread cautiously.

Usual media beat up:

Media: Will you be offering your first pick?
Woosh: No
Media: What if clubs make offers?
Woosh: Sure, they can make offers and as a professional organisation we have a duty to look at each one and say yes or no

Media article:

Woosh says make us an offer for pick 4!

Standard media fare. I wish the media would stop treating the public like idiots. Essentially they trick us into clicking on the story and unfortunately the more clicks a story gets the better journalism.

that's ridiculous

what motive (Sale at Myer) would the media (20% off at Freedom) have to misconstrue (Closing down sale) a presser?

I have heard from woosha's mouth on multiple occasions that pick 4 is on the table for the right player, so while many stories this time of the year are rubbish, this one in particular has been around for a few weeks, on the back of comments from Johns interviews.

every pick is on the market from every club for the right player.

woosha stated that we wont go offering it. But, i dont mind seeing what clubs will throw at us for pick 4. you never know, we could get an offer we can't refuse (i doubt it, but you never know)
i can see us being very active in trade week, but at the end of it, we will have pick 4. We will be trying to offload around 5 players in my eyes.

the question is what can we get with pick 4 on the market? i mean if you think of it, if some of the suggestions on this board were mentioned, opposition clubs would laugh and tear us a new one.

if there was one player id get with pick 4 itd be mr van berlo.

Does anyone think woosha is going to recruit a few older players so the side does just enough to keep him in the job. I heard from a bloke who i doubt would bullshit that Andrew Lovett is a real possibility for us next year I'd he doesn't go to jail.

Why go half arsed when wanting a mature aged player, skip Andy Lovett and go Andy Lovell. Bring him back in, then we might have an average age comparing to other sides.

Worsfold would not want that. If the average age goes up then his youth excuse for losing that he uses as a bomb shelter to hide in every week becomes even harder to hold together.
