Draft Profile Marc Lock

Was delisted by GC, surely will have another crack at the draft this year.

He is 192cm/83kg midfielder who is by all accounts a good player. Was part of the inaugural GC team and also won their best and fairest last year. Apparently he just did his own thing on the field however and therefore did not get selected for Senior footy and had to dominate the lower leagues again this year.

Will he get another go this time around?

Indeed. I think Lock won it the year before.

Lock has all the attributes to be a good footy player. Just needs to work out some issues first.

I dont understand how a player can go from Captain to delisted in one year? Was he upset to lose the captainship when Ablett can in?

Played the first game against Carlton, and clearly didn't match it with the rest of the players (mind you, most of our players were out of their depth in that game, but Lock in particular). Dropped and never able to make it back into the squad. Later in the season, he was playing some good games in the reserves, kicked 6 goals against GWS and still didn't get a look in the seniors the next week. A couple of the posters on our board were suggesting it was something to do with his mentality, and that he had issues with the club.

From Captain, to leadership group, to looking for a new club... Intersting progression in his career.

I wonder if Sydney will pick him up, considering he rejected a multi year contract with a higher salary at the start of the year
