have heard that Marc Murphy has a slight case of O.P and is on a modified programme over the pre season.
Hope its not too bad because we cant afford to have him missing from our side...

Has anyone heard anything??

Yes....

Heard about it on the weekend and mentioned it in the training 12/12 thread...

My information is that they will be taking it really slowly with murph and he may miss the start of the season... I hope I'm wrong...

What;s your source, could it be they;re managing his work load...I read in the training thread he looked in good spirits at training on 12/12

Could it be a dumb rumour, or is your source reliable?

Gee I hope not. I'm going out to training tomorrow morning, and i'll check it out. Even if he has, hopefully the club can manage him so he's right to go for round 1.

I won't be able to make it to training tommorow, but please report back on Murphy. Without Judd, Murphy and Fevola, winning our first game will be a miracle, even agains the calibre of Richmond

I've heard Jarrad Waite has had a set back. Not serious but not playing Round 1. Fact or fiction? I was surprised with the prediction of a Round 1 return as I'd rather a conservative approach that would have him returning to footy between Round 6 and 10. Would love to see him racking up some game time before then but the source was pretty good. My daughter told me [and she got it from a good source]. Please be gentle if you disagree.

Its way too soon to make a ruling on Waite regarding round 1. I'd put this squarely into the fiction category.

Define setback?
Long term rehab from any condition is full of ups and downs.

If he was fully fit at round 1 wound you still want to wait until round 16? Why waste a year of his career?

9 months is pretty standard for a return from an ACL these days. That IS the conservative approach. Malceski had the "rushed" approach.......and got back in 3 months........and gee......hasn't he just gone from strength to strength.

He is in the best hands, and if they say he's on track for round 1 you can rest assured that IS the conservative estimate.

As for Murph, if he does have some OP it would have to be at the earliest stage just given the timelines from holidays to now and the fact he was in the "normal" group not that long ago..............and given that I'd be staggered that anyone could say he won't be right in 3 months time.

Pure rumour mongering.:thumbsd:

I should point out I hvae no direct knowledge of their conditions or lack thereof, just an opinion from an outsider with some knowledge in the area based on what is known, and what is likely to have been able to happen in the times indicated. :thumbsu:

......written, spoken and authorised by Bbear on behalf of the bears everywhere.

Seems as though OP isn't quite the "buzz injury" as it was a couple of years ago, without surgery, what is the typical recovery time from OP?

I had (still have) OP, one of the most annoying injuries as it just incapacitates your movement. I took a month and a half off training and playing, started back recently and can still feel the affects. My physio recommended 3-4 months (with no surgery).

I'm always leery of newbies bearing bad news..and as you joined in 2007 and are still listed as a newbie almost 3 years later makes me even more suss as to your mindset and intentions.

So what's your thoughts on BB - just a bad news bear too?

You also 'heard' that Rohan Kerr had been arrested for taking a dump on a golf course, that Brian Lake wanted to come to Carlton and we were heavily involved in working out a trade, that Walker would definitely be traded and probably Grigg as well.

Now I realise that things can change and don't always go down as planned, but the strike rate is taking a bit of a hit.

I would hate it if you were scaring up rumours from unreliable sources. No need to concern the forum without something more concrete.
