Ivan gives his all on the field. He battled hard in the ruck to try and help our midfield back into the game. That goal he kicked was fantastic for a man his size! Hopefully he has a better pre-season than he had last year as we had to ease him through it with his groin issues.

He lifted to the occasion. Someone we can count on next year who will lift for big games. Never doubted he would have a great game. We just need him to instill that fighting spirit into the rest of the team. It will come. That goal though, wowee. I lost my ****.

Toweled up in the ruck contests but one of our best around the ground.

Just hope we don't end up having 18th anniversary functions celebrating his goal.

He didn't start that well but got better as the game went on, and given the fact he had to deal with Warnock + Kreuzer I think he was one of our best.

It's good to know that we can back Ivan in for big games.

What a lion hearted effort.
Must admit I didn't get excited and all pumped up after the goal because I absolutely knew we were gone.
I actually got annoyed haha. Distinctly remember turning to my mate and saying "**** me what a disgrace that' ivy has to do that".
Lol
Great moment though and great Richmond man.

I loved it. showed that he will fight to the end.

Love Ivy too. Can't remember ever being as pumped as i was when he snagged that goal in the last. Pure guts.

Having said that, and given this is a positive thread, just posing the question, I've heard more than a few suggesting we need a taller ruckman for centre bounces, if that was to happen, where would it leave Ivy? If we really went down that line, I'm not certain you could play 2 dedicated rucks.

Personally, I'd rather think Ty can develop into this taller option and give Ivy even more of a chop out.

Heart of a lion big Ivan!

Can obviously add something to this debate because of our own troubles with Knockers and MK...

You would be nuts to leave Maric out if another ruck came in...what he brings to your team reminds me of what MK does for us (not so much on Sunday)...the inspirational things that blokes that size shouldn't be doing, clearances, etc...I pooped myself when Maric kicked that goal, it was that good I thought for sure it would be the kick in the arse to get you going...

Whilst a taller ruckman might be required, inspirational acts from your big men - blokes who would run until they drop for the jumper - are worth their weight in gold. You find a way to slot them both in. The end.

Absolute herculean effort by the big man.

Battled insanely hard all day, that goal in the last was inspirational and set the crowd alight.

This is a purely positive thread, keep the negative stuff out of this thread.

Oh wow I can still see him gathering the ball, launching it through the two big sticks and running through his teammates to spark a revival!

The crowd roar when that happened - wow, i truly believed we would come back at that stage!

Cotch won the next clearance, but unfortunately Dusty slipped after the marking contest and we coughed it up.

can anyone remember which Carlton player he run away from to kick that goal?

That was the Rocky Balboa & the Eye of the Tiger moment all rolled into one.

Still can't believe that amazing effort, goal and celebration wasn't the catalyst to inspire the Tigers to go on to win it. That was all heart Ivan :rainbow:

Well, Henderson is no mug. After rucking almost all day, that effort was nothing short of Herculean, and my lasting image of Sunday.

This goal and Cotchin's goal on the left early on were the two best goals. Dusty's goal wasn't bad either.

Lots of others from free kicks and 50's.

After that goal I was thinking that I cant wait until a goal like that has the opposition team shitting themselves.

But alas I didnt experience a shred of hope, only admiration for his game.
