Talking to a mate who used to play for Port ( in a few premiership sides ) who still has very close contact with them, and he tells me that the maggies coach etc. are VERY VERY impressed with Maric.
Apparently they reckon he could be anything.

The feedback has been so far that he has a greater ability to play in several positions....and not just restricted to ruck.

It looks like we finally have a promising batch of young talls. Did anyone see the interview with Al Stewie and a few of the boys last night? He really is an impressive charcter is OUR Stewie.

I'm very excited about Ivan.

He's a good athlete, has nice hands and is improving all the time. His skills and decision-making are wayward at times but he's been excellent so far this year.

I reckon he will become a great ruckman/resting forward - he can kick bags of goals when he's on his game. He's also SUPER clever with his taps.

We shouldn't expect to see him until late 2006/early 2007, but signs are showing that he could become the best of our picks in last years draft.

Ivan Maric is going to be a real good player for you lot. I go and see the Maggies a bit and for a kid his work rate is great, his ruckwork is good, and he is a good height. Next two years will see him develop and I cant see any reason why he wont be a success at your club...

yep going ok a bit slower but still very active in the mind sat with him a couple saturdays ago he speaks his mind and doesn't care who hears him.
Have had some great chats over the years the old stories of Kerley,Neil Hawke Fos Williams and those players should be in a book.
