Any track watchers have comments on his progress? I've read everything from worst recruit ever (really) to some nice work in the intra-practice game today. Cheers.
i reckon he is still 12 months off reaching a good size for senior football. Was recruited as a defender but played some impressive football as a forward last year at the bullants. definitely one to watch out for.

So do you think he is more likely to succeed than fail given the opportunities? I realize it is a thankless task guessing a players long-term future.

I reckon he has more natural ability and smarts than hartlett and probably bower as well so I give him a very good chance of making it.

no realtion to Curly it was said on CFC website when we drafted him.

He has the biggest thighs at the club along with Shields but still needs to develop his upper body strength.

From what I have seen at training he has lacked a little intensity, but showed in the VFL last year that he is not short on talent.

Bear in mind he was also bottom aged when drafted so have a little patience......he has a fair amount of upside

Good , he wont have the awkward kicking style of 'curly' then . Good also for himself and Gibbs to be drafted to the same club .:thumbsu:
there was a train of thought that wayne hughes drafted him to appease bryce but he showed enough last year to suggest that he might hold his own at this level.

no realtion at all, even though he took the number 21. he's from glenelg the same club as bryce gibbs.

Andy McKay from Glenelg? Happy to be corrected. MA's kicking action is somewhat more co-ordinated than Curlies.

Has a good frame and looks a natural footballer just needs a bit more size and the confidence which comes with it. Intensity needs to lift by all reports.

Jesus, what does it take for these young blokes to realize this is the big time? All the hard work, the training and gym, the draft and then finally getting to a club at the highest level. To hear they are lacking "intensity" after all the sacrifice and effort makes me want to throw the cat at the telly.

He was considered a possible top 10 pick by some before he broke his arm in his final TAC year and missed the champs.
He played the last 2 games in the seniors at Glenelg as a 17yo. Reports said he had poor debut but his 2nd game was quite good.

His DC results were impressive.
He ran 3.00 for 20m ( identical to what Gibbs and Steven Browne did at DC )
His agility time was even more impressive (in the top 15-20% IIRC).
He is also considered to be super courageous when competing in the air.
His weaknesses are considered to be his skills ( especially by foot )
IMO he is very likely to make the grade, but competition for spots is heating up :thumbsu:

Curlier Than A Catoggio Pube !

Not WH style at all, he would have drafted him because he thought he was the best player available at #35.....IIRC we rated him in or just outside our top 20.:thumbsu:

I really not sure about Aussie. Looks a lazy trackworker but that's just his style. I think another year of development in the Ants will do him good. Players like him, especially who look groomed to be KP defenders, you need to be patient with. I have Bower just in my best 22 although I don't feel we'll see the best of him for another 2-3 years.

With Aussie, i feel he has the ability inside him, but he's the type of player the likes of Crossisca, Montgomery, Lappo will be judged on - can they nurture him from being a player with good ability to being able to use that ability to effectiveness at AFL level? He's the perfect project player. (Same goes for Benjamin, Aisake, Hampson)
