I'd assume he'd be capable of coming up with new things for a new club - as I said, he's a smart bloke.

He wouldn't have secret tactics that he's not talking about with Sheeds at the moment, but that's the same for any club - and Sheeds' ex-assistants tend to go all right in general anyway.

What about tactics wise do u think that he would have a few of his own?

He controls the Forward Line group, and although Sheed's is the Numero Uno, he still gives latitude to his understudy's to run their own show to some extent.

He would make a good coach IMO, but not Currently at Windy Hill.

Would put some mongrel into the Tigers, But I reckon you will sign a Coach who has been there before ( Wallace IMO). They tried Frawley and after some initial success ('01) he...along with the team hasn't reproduced that Form.

Richmond have said that they want an experienced coach, but MH does look the goods as a senior coach, and if Sheeds re-signs, Harvey's going to walk - he wants to be a senior coach and he wants it next year.

it would be best for harvs if he went somewhere next year as an assistant just to see abit of difference outside sheeds.

Essendon is a top sporting club in all of Australia, so if he got a job somewhere else as the top bloke it could give him a big wake up, so a year or as no.2 somewhere else would only help.

Interesting point tomatoes, I personally think Casey has made a gaff by coming out and saying richmond are only interested in experienced coaches , i reckon all options should be considered .
There would be a massive difference for Harvey between A/
Sliding into the throne abdicated by Sheedy with pretty much the same infrastructure in place that he has been a part of for many years and B/
Going to a struggling where he would have to build it from the ground up and build from scratch his own support network
Personally, i think if the tigers were travelling a bit better and the plight wasn`t so diabolical both on and off the field i reckon Harvs would be ideal but Richmond needs not only a good coach but someone who is going to encourage sponsorship dollars and the like which Sheedy would do but thats another story , be interesting to see what happens to M.H

I would rather see Gary O'Donnell come back - has worked with the 'other master' and would definitely bring some great ideas back with him.

I agree....whatsmore he will be coming from a highly successful culture.

I love Harvs but I would prefer he had some experience outside EFC before taking over as Senior Coach....broaden his footy experience.

You can`t be suprised that carlton are winning a few games. Please take a look at the amount of talent spread through the teams. Very thin. They could do nothing but win a few the blues.

Bingo! MH needs to go somewhere else first to learn a "new" thing. He has known no-one in senior footy except Sheeds. I do not want a Carlton fiasco hand-over. Aging stars retiring and trying to rebuild. Need a strong hand during that period and someone who has been "out" of the club for a while and who wont be all "sentimental".

intresting point what sam newman made on the footy show on thursday. He said it time to give something more back to footy. In letting long time trusty ass. coach Harvey take over and sheeds go back to punt road to rebuild the troubled tigers.
