Can somebody tell me what he theoretically brings to the team? We're not exactly blessed with small forwards, but you can speculate as to why certain guys are out there. Cripps is the pressure, Hill pressures and is an opportunistic crumber. Is LeCras a leading forward? Is he a crumber? He's too small for a mid but plays several rotations well up the ground. Used to be a fanatical pressure machine, but hasn't laid a tackle since his arm injury. Regularly burns teammates to blaze away. So what is he bringing?

In no way was he alone today, but has been well off the pace all season and the majority of last season. Mark, you were an absolute star at your peak, you were the sole reason to watch Eagles footy some weeks in '09/'10, but it's game over now mate. There's one very easy spot that could open up for a kid.

The thing is hill Cripps and lecras all rotate shit games

So it's too hard to drp one of three

1 week lecras does really good the other he does bad and so does hill

They are all equally average

I didn't get to watch the first half, but was disappointed to see him ducking his head when going up for a mark in the third quarter

Always goes missing when West Coast play tough teams, always. 0 possessions in the 2nd half when the team needed leaders. Hawks defenders zoned off him and played 2 on Kennedy knowing LeCras wasn't a danger.

Our forward line and especially our delivery in there is a basket case.

We have three lead up forwards in Kennedy, Darling and Lecras.... Hill often plays like one. And with Gov it's even worse. The balance is wrong.

So our forward line isn't balanced and then we just bomb the ball onto their heads and the ball comes straight back, especially on a wide ground like the MCG.

Put McGovern back where he won his AA jumper and get the clearance work going. It will flow from there. The problem today was from the Ruckman, to the inside mids ..... everything fell apart from there.

Had 5 tackles today, was involved in a few scores and had about 5 kicks put on his head. The kicks going forward were putrid, what the **** were any of the forwards supposed to do?

Doesn't help when the midfield continues to sh!t themselves with blind kicks over their shoulders or long and high. Saying that Le cras and Hill are too similar, commentators said it. One them needs to add something up the ground or we find someone who can. Mutimer, Karpany, Lamb, Venerables?

I agree Lecras and Hill are too similar but I don't think this game was really ever in their hands to take over. It never got handed to them and they never got the chance.

Vardy, Priddis, Redden, Duggan (last 3 qtrs), Shuey (first 3qtrs) Sheed

That was the major issue. Absolutely spanked at the hard stuff and shat the bed when they were given the chance. Gaff's disposal was average but at least he can grab the ball first time and not treat it like soap.

Wasn't happy with JK today either but I wouldn't put the blame on the forwards today.

Whilst thats true there is only one player out of the three that actually put any pressure on the opposition and do the 1% ers.

I will give you a hint his number is > than 10 and < than 20 ;)

So he is the last to go..... ironically he is the least talented of the trio but his point of difference is that he plays with heart.

We don't exactly have a small forward in the wafl. How nice would it be to have Liam Ryan right about now?
Does anybody else suspect we took Gorter just to appease East Perth?

Seriously, what a dumb pick.

Damn straight.

You seem to miss the point being average and a goer contribute's more to any team than a highly talent player that only spectates.

If your supporting The Frenchman's efforts today, then maybe its you who need try again.

East Perth got nothing out of it so I doubt it. They didn't get a transfer fee, they lost one of their best trainers.

West Coast weren't the only team to overlook Ryan. If he presented himself in the off season as someone who wanted to be drafted and willing to do the work all 18 clubs would have been after him, most before the rookie draft. Actually attending pre planned meetings, even late is a great start.
