Pre-Season he basically declared that the Pies have no depth, this on the basis of the opinion of "Super Coach" Terry Wallace:

Collingwood's depth could be major problem in September

Then, he took it upon himself to interpret some comments from Travis Cloke to basically mean that Cloke will be at GWS next year:

The day after the round 1 loss to Hawthorn, he declared on Triple M radio that the Pies can't win the flag.

Now after a win against Richmond, he has declared that the Pies' annual pre-season trip to Arizona - which has brought us a flag, runners-up and I think from memory a finals appearance every year that we've done it - doesn't work:

Clearly, this tool has been chosen to follow in the footsteps of the fattest tool of all - Mark Robinson. Now that fat Robbo has his hands tied with AFL 360, his intriguing web chats, awesome Tackle column, giving Swan votes then saying he's not good enough and so on, the Stevo idiot is obviously the guy to put the Pies in his sights and sell newspapers to the haters.

Obviously another w***er who has decided to put selling papers ahead of general logic and intelligence.
 
Yeah now we are not the Flag Favourites the Media is love getting back to sticking it back to us.

Though Stevens seem to have a Vandetta against us or something.

Maybe the Club told him to piss off last season
 
What annoyed me about the F---wit was how he was hoping that GWS would take one of our players,he just shows how anti Pies he is and whether or not you can believe a word he says in relation to Collingwood.

It's FINALLY our motto rusty m8, but its always been FACT. So too the anti Collingwood bias in the media. How else do you expect the Collihate has been handed down from generation to generation? Willful misrepresentation from the entire melbourne sporting media.

Mark Stevens or whoever writes those articles about us is doing us a favour - you can't buy that kind of publicity.
 
He's hated us for years. I remember a few years ago someone got reported for striking Harry O. Stevens gets on the radio the next day and says that anyone reported for striking Harry should immediately get cleared on the grounds that he is just a germ.

Since I heard him say that I have always disregarded anything he says about us.
 
Anyone remember his '10 grand final ratings, saying Blair will go on to be good trivia fodder, with a clear inference that he'd fade into obscurity.

That's just pulling one out of many instances of being an utter ****wit.

Also comes across as a clear w***er with his general views if you read him on twitter.

Don't really read anything Mark Stevens writes, and l'm tipping most things he writes about us usually ends up at the bottom of the bird cage.

Who does he support?

Where's his scientific backup regarding the trip to Arizona is a waste of time, or is he a fitness guru who knows that high altitude training dosen't work?

Weren't we one of the best finishing teams last year, we did kick 11 goals in that game against the Crows last season apparently our greater fitness base saw us run over the top of them. Didn't we have that advantage over other clubs and that fitness base got us finishing off games strongly. Plus don't other clubs now head off to high altitude training, namely Carlscum and North?:thumbsdown:
 
I wonder if anyone has considered that, running threads about journos slagging us off simply gives these journos greater market penetration and thus greater incentive to write these pieces. Their editors will then want more negative stories because market penetration equals advertising revenue.
Personally I don't give a fig what they write, every article just reinforces what we all knew ( long before it became this seasons motto.
IT'S US AGAINST THEM.

Personally speaking, it doesn't make a difference seeing as it takes a lot for me to actually spend money on that pathetic rag known as the Herald Sun. You notice those links go to his stories from a Perth paper, bypassing the utterly ridiculous HUN subscription only blocking.

These articles are aimed at selling papers to the haters, not us Pie fans.

I saw the arizona article in the hsun and i thought, what complete and utter bullshit.

He had his stats there, comparing our possessions, marks, tackles, etc in the last qtr against our opponents in rd 1 and 2. He then went on to say that it basically means that arizona doesn't work, and all that the scum have to do is be close at 3qtr time on friday and they're home.

I mean seriously, ITS ROUND 2 FFS. I've never seen a flag won in April.

After just seeing "Blessed,s" post about us on the main board I don,t think Stevens is the only 1 with us in his sights,now more than ever it is us v them.

That was one of the worst articles I've read, saying that for the good of the AFL Collingwood should lose a player (no matter who it was) to GWS because we hadn't lost a player (apart from Fraser who he didn't rate)! At the end of the article he then went on to list 7 clubs who hadn't lost a player at all which included Carlton, West Coast, Richmond, Essendon & St Kilda, so all other big clubs that are doing well!

The Arizona critique was amusing. Given only last season we were known for diominating last quarters.

Perhaps the fadeouts have something to do with the half a dozen kids with less than 5 games experience runing around for us?

I read that we were the 3rd least experienced side in the comp in Round 1 behind GWS and GC. Went ok considering

At least 2 of those clubs you named there would have more depth than we have but he does not put the blowtorch on them,he is just another anti Pies tosser in the media with an axe to grind,who now thinks we are down and out and they are coming out of the woodwork to take a free swing.

If they had a reasonable argument you would debate it but not petulant and malicious as he wrote in his article?.
