I don't believe he should play for Australia at the World Cup as he has basically pulled himself out of any Australian game for a fair while now. If he doesn't want to be part of the qualifiers then he should be apart of the WC.

But this is football and it's all about winning, and we are a shadow of the 2006 side without Duke up front. If he wants to play and he's fit he should ****ing be there.

I agree with the first paragraph

And I agree with the second ... except I think we're a shadow not because we haven't got him, but rather the main players are all 4 years older and a bit slower. Plus Pim isn't going to work them over as hard to get into the same shape they were last time round when we were possibly the fittest team out there.

if you look at home many games he's played in the past 2 years (barely any) it's no surprise that he hasn't played a role in the WCQ campaign.

it's not a case of not wanting to particpate, its just that he wasn't fit enough too. i wish ppl would stop knocking him about that.

As you say in the second part, Dukes is a legend. we are lesser side without him.

Williams will be better then him.

hes a mate irl, well im mates with his brother steve..

said he was convincing him to play in the WC, as he wanted to go watch him :)

The A-league is perfect for him.

Look at Craig Moore, he couldn't get on the park in Europe due the heavy toll of games which cause injury after injury.

The A-League with a 4-5 month offseason to rest and only one game per week has been perfect for Moore and he has pretty much played (and started) the majority of the matches.

Viduka will obviously benefit like Moore from the less games and he can still be one of the best players in the league even if he is short of match fitness re. Charlie Miller and Carlos Hernandez.

He has been a great player but even t the last world cup he wasnt that great i didnt think.

We are in trouble if he is there in south africa.

Hope im wrong of course!

I don't want to sound harsh, but i think your 100% off the mark.

His role in holding the ball in in '06 was vastly underrated and playing mostly as a lone striker, he did a very good job.

With the striking options that we've got, he would be a handy player to have, considering his big game experience.
