America is just screwed up. Look at the amount of serial killers, mass murders and domestic terrorists that emanate from the USA. They have serious issues with mental health over there.

More gun control would help a bit but the problems obviously run deeper than that. It'll take generations for anything to change.
 
Its easy to write off the country as full of nuts but there’s many Americans... I’d even venture to say a majority... who fully comprehend the madness of the gun thing.

They just have this mad situation where relatively tiny, vested interests can control things due to having money and enough control in the media.

And honestly, we’re not that much different. It’s not guns here, but it easily could be.

We have a government with a media arm (newscorp) that gets away with basically whatever it wants, and we vote them back in.

& the timing of such an observation comes off a fairly callous as most of those stat's aren't deliberate acts to kill & maim.

There's a mass shooting every day in America. The overwhelming majority of them are gang or drug related. Stricter gun control might do something to stop the dozen or so indiscriminate massacres that we see each year in the US, but those crime-related mass shootings that don't make the news will still keep happening. They have massive issues when it comes to gang violence.

Disagree. They happen because every “gang member” has a handgun and they’re easy to get hold of.

If they had genuine gun control... including handguns... there would start to be a decline, there’s absolutely no doubt.

It’d take time but if over time if they slowly got handguns off the streets there’d be a drop off in all gun crime.
No doubt.

Where do you go in Australia to get a handgun? People, including gang members, wouldn’t even know where to start. For good reason.

Yeah, but the guns they're using are often stolen and almost always unregistered. There's a massive weapons black market in America.

Stricter gun control might stop little Jimmy getting his hands on an AR and shooting up his school because he's angry with the world, which would be a great thing and the US should at least try to do something to stop senseless massacres happening. But their gun culture is just so different to anywhere else in the developed world that I doubt any legislation would do much to stop overall gun crime. They can't outright ban guns because it's in their constitution. They're too far gone. It would take generations for any meaningful change to occur.

Dunno about generations, but yes it would take a long time. But that’s okay, I think. Most things worth doing do.

“Whose gun is this?”

“Mine”

“Where’s your license?”

“Don’t have one”

“Ok, confiscated. Thanks.”

They even seem surprised this happened. "Walmart is a 'no carry' area. Things would be different if it weren't"

Like they're surprised someone with intent to shoot is worried about the 'no carry' rules then if they themselves would be allowed to 'carry' they'd turn into John McClane when shit goes down. Such a dumb country. Average IQ must be under 25
