Listening to the new album 'Blood Mountain' right now.
Brann Dailor is a drum-machine.
Some very nice Harmonised guitar parts.
I haven't heard the full album yet, but it sounds damn good so far

Anyone else got there hands on it?
Thoughts?
Compared to Leviathan?

Got Leviathan, doesn't grab me AT ALL. And I'm a drummer. He OVERPLAYS, all the crazy fills etc become boring after a while. He almost never allows a song to groove, or even breathe. I like DYNAMICS in Heavy music, and they have little (to my ears)

haha, He toned the drums down for Leviathan, so you would definately not like 'remission' then.
I disagree, he definately allows a song to groove and breathe, he just happens to make so many fills that it's like copping a beating from 'Sugar' Shane Leonard. So quick and precise.
Needless to say I'm a fan of his and the band.

Off topic but is your name derived from the greatest metal drummer in the world, Sir Derek? :)

Ha! Na, my stage name is 'Roddy Scarr', I thought that up a few years ago, coz I got a fair few scars on me. One from a horrific Footy injury!

Anyway, check my band out....

they are the most talented metal band out there in just the amount of riff's they come up with, their music, and their technical ability isnt too shabby either, mastodon are going to be the kings of metal in my opinion, levitation was such a great album, and what ive heard off blood mountain, its also a pretty badass album

That was what I thought when I saw the name as well :D

Except for the "greatest drummer in the world" part

1) Hellhammer
2) Pete Sandoval
3) Frost
