Do we put Splinter on Hamill, or Polak.

Riewoldt :- Pav, Polak or Hadrill.

Black :- Macca, Walker or Schammer.

Leave Sandilands and Simmonds on the ground, rotating through the forward line.

JLo should play FF.

Croad could go to CHF, but I still would like him running forward out of the backline. Unfortunately he still needs to learn how to be tight on his opponent.

Milne is Haydens boy, but if Mr Parker decides to play, he may pull rank.

Pavlich is wasted on Riewoldt as a first choice as far as I am concered.
I would stick polak on him first and then Hadrill.
Does Black honestly need tagging? I would put Macca on him though.
I would put Hayden on Milne first and if he is beaten and we have parker in the side stick parker there.

Polak on Riewoldt, Woods on Hamill, Haddrill on Gehrig if he plays forward. Grover on Kosi if he plays up forward. If Parker plays, swap one of them with Parker. Hayden on Milne.

It will be intersting to see how they match our forward line as I get a gut feeling it will be stacked this week :D

I'd put splinter on Riewoldt, Rodger on Milne , Carr on Hayes and Haddrill on Hamil .

Walker on Jones, after the good job he did on MacMahon.

Let them worry about who matches up on the forward line.

Expect Ruck dominance and plenty of ball from the clearances.

Great to be the one where they worry about the matchups. :)

Rob Harvey must be taken out this weekend he is quietly slipping back into Brownlow form. Cookie may be the man for the job

Lenny Hayes is by far the Saints' most damaging midfielder this season. We should be worrying about how to stop him. Harvey has also been good, although not quite as damaging as Hayes.

Parker on Milne (otherwise Hayden if Parker is still injured), Polak on Riewoldt, Haddrill on Gehrig if he plays forward. I dont think Woods is a good match-up for Hamill. Hamill would be far too strong and tough for Woods. Woods' best match-up would probably be against Riewoldt, although I'd like to see Polak against Riewoldt. Harvey and Bell will go head to head. Hayes is their most damaging midfielder, he wins plenty of contested balls and also backs his pace to run forward of the play and hurt opposition teams on the scoreboard. His tackling and one-percenters are also second to none. I'd give the job to either Cook or Carr.

Was watching a bit of Foxtel last night and a mention was made about Gehrig and injections. I missed some of the conversation, but it sounded like he can't have any more injections so he will thus have to play with alot of pain. I think it is his ankle area.

The point being, will he play or will he be playing along way below 100% physically?.

Any word if Gehrig is playing or not ???

I just posted my thoughts on match ups over on the good guy's site:Match Ups - Saints site

I am hoping for a great game - and look forward to the Saints being competitive rivals with Freo for years to come.

Hey, how come you've only played us in Melbourne once since 1997 yet we seem to be playing you here every year?

FF: Medhurst...Croad.........Farmer
FB: Burke.......Hudghton.....Clarke

HF: Waterhouse...Longmuir.....Cook
HB: Goddard..........Gehrig........Jones

C: Headland...Pavlich.......Carr
C: Black........Thompson...Hayes

HB: McManus..Polak.......Woods
HF: Powell....Riewoldt...Lawrence

FB: Hayden....Haddrill......Grover
FF: Milne.......Koschitzke...Hamill

R: Simmonds.....Bell......Hasleby
R: Capuano....Harvey.....Ball

I: Schammer, Sandilands, Walker, Koops
I: Peckett, Baker, Macguire, Penny

Carr will run with Hayes but will also run forward of the play to make him accountable and try to damage them on the scoreboard.

The other player we should be worrying about is Hamill. He is a dangerous player who inspires his team mates and instills fear into the opposition with his toughness and attack on the footy. I'd be more inclined to put Grover on him rather than Woods, who would be conceding a lot of weight. I'd rather play Woods across half back where we can make the most of his dash, rebound and creativity.

The midfield should be a great contest with Pavlich, Hasleby, Bell, Headland, Carr, Cook, McManus and Schammer vs Hayes, Harvey, Thompson, Black, Ball, Powell and Baker.

We will have a huge advantage in the ruck and I'd say the majority of our players are a good 12 -18 months ahead of the Saints which will allow us to gain a physical dominance over them.

Should be a great game, Dockers by 36 points.
