Stokes played a great game on the weekend, contributed well to the side and played his role for the team, but don't go beating your chest after one great game by him, lots of blokes have played at least one great game for our club over the years, players like Danny O'Brien and Tim Hargreaves and plenty of others.

1 great game yes but what has been wrong with the rest of his efforts this year??? When has the bloke had a dirty game?? He wasn't even playing for the first 3-4 games at the start of the year when we were below par footy. I reckon he's been solid in applying forward pressure and bobbing up for 1-2 goals a game.

If you want to point out players inadequacies then please point your attention to the poor man's Stokes, one S.Brynes. Unlike Varcoe he's had enough time to prove himself and unlike Stokes he can't consistently justify his spot.

great player stokesy but he needs to play like he did on saturday to keep his spot come finals.

wtf?? I really don't think so. He only needs to keep getting 1-2 goals a game plus his 15 odd possesions to keep his spot. His second efforts are great.
