Has been in pretty good form last few weeks. 39 Touches yesterday against West Perth. Another promising youngster.

Opinions?

He plays in the gut.

Relatively small body size, but at 189cm is a very hand height. Will bulk up, he's only 18.

Knows how to find the ball and has lead from the front in a dissapointing Peel side all year. Looks very promising IMO.

Sounds good!

If teh kid is already getting 39 possessions in the WAFL and he is only 18 then he should get a game soon, I noticed he was an emergency for the demons game. He could be close.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a run for the Eagles before the end of the year. He's been in good form all year.

Only heard of him by name

What position does he play? Anyone know anything about him?

Been mainly playing on the wing for Peel this season, has been BOG in Peels prevoius two matches (v WP & C), and would be leading there B&F currently.

Was recruited from North Ballarat, only weighs around 75kg, but this will be continuing to increase, and can run! IMO very close to a WCE call up, as he has been near faultless for Peel.

Remember reading that his disposal was iffy. Could just be another McGough type.

Yeah, this is the summary of Wisbey's pre-draft report on him- (someone posted the full one on EFH's draft/trading board)

*SUMMARY ASSESSMENT, RECOMMENDATION:

- Gets a lot of ball and fairly accurate but takes some time to kick and kicks tend to be floaters. Very outside. Covers lot of ground, floating, rather than charging, from contest to contest but doesn't often contest with great intensity.

- Had a good U18 Champs, including stitching up a likely draftee (Batchelor) in the first half of the SA game.

- Is a good kid and likely to do well at VFL level but not quick enough for an outside player of his type at AFL level.

- He accumulates stats but none of his hurt factors (OHF Offensive, DHF Defensive, NHF Negative) are good enough for AFL. As an example, he amassed 39 disposals in TAC Rnd 18 against the runaway premiers Calder yet failed to register a Morrish Medal vote and only got 2 Coaches Award votes (votes are on a 1-5 basis). It's like amassing the biggest wine collection in town but using half of it for cooking and BBQs.

- I expect him to get drafted (about mid draft?) and hope he does well, but not for mine.

Would be interested to hear from anyone who has seen much of Peel whether those criticisms are still valid or if he's improved with AFL standard skills coaching?

He's surprised me, much like Sharp has when i've seen him play. Rosa will go close to getting a call up for the Carlton game but if he doesn't, i certainly think he'll get a game before the season's out. I'm sure Peel are hoping he doesn't get a call up though, they'll be even more lost without him.

I went to the Peel and Swans game a long time ago to watch Rosa; I think it may've been the first round of the WAFL. The game sticks in my head because it's the only time I've seen Rosa and I've got to say that after I read Wisby's comments on Rosa's "hurt factor" I immediatly agreed.

It wasn't that he missed targets in this particular game it was more that he never really hit anyone on the chest and made it easy for them, he more put it in a spot where his player would have to work hard to get possession.

Considering that even I noticed his lack of hurt factor it must be pretty evident, but it was a long time ago and I'm no expert on these matters. I hope he gets a call up.

He has been going ok in a poor side. He really is very skinny. With a few more preseasons under his belt he could be a very servicable player for us down the track but I would be very surprised if we saw him this year. Having said that, I rate him higher than a few other young players on our list EG Daniel McConnell

Surely we can squeeze him in, we've only got what 12 players already vying for a spot in the middle.

Well i am a Peel Suporter and attend all there home games and the odd away game aswell.... I wil be going down to Donnybrook on Saturday for the Peel -VS- East Perth game (humm and-dmac as well as Rosa and Ash Thornton will all be playing for the two clubs)

He would be leading Peel's B&F at this stage in the season and i have been saying for the last couple of weeks that an AFL call-up for Matty isnt to far away. He still needs to bulk up a bit but that wil come.... IMO we should give him a run against Carlton... See if he carries his WAFL form into AFL level and if he doesnt then we can always put him back into WAFL ranks and no harm would have been done... We did it with LeCras and Edwards have both given them a taste of AFL action and they were better off for it so give Matty a run and continue the good rich vein of Peel Thunder players playing @ AFL Level (Daniel Wells and Farren Ray are ex-peel boys)

From what I have seen his kicking is fine. It doesnt look the best, some of his kicks are floaters but they are accurate. Nothing like McGough, who simply cannott hit targets.
