It seems a little weird that, to my knowledge anyway, MCarr hasn't signed a new contract as yet. With the talk this morning that Dyson, Bradley, Moody, etc might be on their way, the numbers on our list are getting very tight and with him not having a contract is a bit odd.

As I am not in the know, in fact I can't even see those in the know if I stand on my tippy-toes, I can't shed any light as to why. But, is it possible that MCarr could be a) traded or b) delisted or c) PSD'ed?? I am just a tad uneasy at him being uncontracted at the moment.

Although I agree the guy's slow and is getting on a bit, he still does a decent tagging job and sacrifices his game to do so.

Plus this year he carried an injury for over 10 rounds so he definitely was unable to play at his best.

I dont think we'd get much for Matty Carr in a trade so it would be better to hang onto him and use him as the tagger until Crowley or Dodd can be groomed as his replacement in that role

A fit Matt Carr would be a huge loss!

How quickly we forget!

Yep , while it appears to us that he is past it (and I was critical through the year) , if you check out the doig thread you will see that he polled votes from the match committee is 8 out of 17 games (2 out of 3 under Harves) despite carrying a hernia.

It seem that the match committee rate him a bit and he is in out top 22 for consistency .

Don't think he has ever been the same since he injured himself/was injured in an incident with Cameron Ling at Subi 2 or 3 seasons ago.
Always handy to have in a Derby tho!!!:)

I was going to bring up the Doig.

Perhaps the coaches watch him more closely than the baggers, and they know how well he fulfills the particular role he is given on matchdays. :thumbsu:

Altenatively, they know he is crap but continue to play him anyway, regardless of how he is hurting the team, because they like him and don't want to "ruffle his feathers". Whatever seems more logical to each poster I guess.
