Me and a couple of mates have bet for a slab going with a deluded Essendon supporter who thinks this individual deserves to be uttered int he same breathe as Carey, that he will not kill more than 80 goals this season....

i believe its a shoe in as do me other two mate who are involved, yet this individual believes Lloyd is a certainty of doing so based purely on previous records when playing in great teams of the modern era...

What are peoples thoughts....

Hard to say.
In a decent team he would easily i reckon if he played all 22 games.
But Essendon have a very poor midfield, and he may struggle to get some decent delivery.

Look at Fevola last year, kicked 84 goals in a very crap tea, can Lloyd do something similar? Possibly.

I reckon he will end up with about 65-70 goals.

Fev is an excellent exponent at kicking for goal from outside of 50 something Lloyd can struggle with at sometimes, seems to spray alot of shot for goals when going for the distance..

Also a better point then the one previous is the delivery fev is and was recieving from the midfield, the likes of Stevens, murphy, Houlihan, Scotland, Lappin, Betts all delivering inside the forward 50. Whereas Essendon have very few reliable kicks, and also a problem player in Lucas who wouldnt pass to a player 350 metres in the clear even if he was assured 4 free kicks for goal and a free sundae from macdonalds.... he is one of just a few hogs in the Essendon lineup - Hird, Campo, Lovett, Monfries just to name a few...

You are an absoloute fool. Clearly you have spent little or no time watching essendon play or else you would firstly know that Lloyd is the best if not very close to the best kick for goal in the league from any distance, 50+ included. And secondly, to call one of the most unselfish and team-orientated forwards to ever play the game in hird a ''hog'' is insulting to all football fans and bigfooty readers alike
