It is a shame that Matty Price was not around to see Saturday nights game. I miss his column an awful lot, it was the first thing I read on a Saturday morning. I can't help but wonder what humorous spin he would have put on the game.
Matty, you would have loved it. One day ( I don't know when ) we will win a flag for you.

I have to admit it did cross my mind in the last quarter what Matt Price would have had to say about it all.

Yeah, I thought about he and his book during the game too. There's a chapter in Way to Go about getting humiliated in Brisbane one day and how he was on the phone to someone at the game. The person said to him, "We're coming back. We just scored a point."

I felt very much this way during the second half of Saturday night. My nearly four year old daughter wanted to know why I wasn't shouting and carrying on in front of the TV like I usually do, so I said "I'm only cheering when we get a goal." When the Spud did put one through I cheered like he had kicked the winning goal after the siren.

Matt made - and his memory continues to make - times like this bearable.

There is a reason we love this club despite times like these, and it is because we have real hearts, real passion, real commitment, and - I guess - real patience. These bases were, for all too short a time, personified by Matt.

Matt Price typified those aspects of which real Freo fans are most proud, and we miss him immensely. The other night was a defeat, but his was a real loss.

After a rough game like this, the memory of Matt Price is one of the things which helps me to just take my medicine and turn the other cheek. RIP pricem.

As far as im concerned every dog has its day every person will have their finest hour. We can get a premiership eventually however we need to get EVERYTHING right to get there.

I love the australian newspaper. awesome articles he made about freo as well!

One article he wrote was when he bagged out west coast the week before the derby. That was in 2002 and we won the game by 30 points! (100 to 70)

Another article was in pre-season 2003 with a War In Iraq theme to it. he declared brisbane the northern Empire, Collingwood the the eastern Empire. West coast a fallen empire and Freo a growing Battalion of troops settling out in the west! Yep freo were ready for war!

And Andrew Demitriou was the "Kofi Anan" of the article.

Another classic Article I remembered was an article with a star wars theme to it. Chris Connolly was Luke Skywalker. Mick Malthouse was Darth Vader. LOL. Eddie Maguire was the evil emperior. And the force... Freos home ground Advantage Subiaco oval.

The preview article on that Freo vs Collingwood home game said "It would take more than the force (subiaco oval) to beat the evil empire." We won that game too!

Matt Price was bloody brilliant!

Sad he not here with us its not the same with out him.

Never read his articles but Way to Go is a special book indeed. I think I've read it at least four times, laughing all the way through, but the most special time to read it will be when we eventually win a flag. If only I can make it to 100 (nearly 28 now).
