AFL Club
Carlton
I thought I make a thread on Mature Age Recruits. The club usually take 1 sometimes 2 at the Rookie Draft and AFL Draft. I reckon the Sandover Medal winner is a good player to work with remind me of another Matt Priddis. Kane Mitchell is a very quick player with skills that have improved. He reminds me a shorter version of Tommy Alvin, it would be good too see another Tommy with the number 31 on his back. The Claremont club also been a good breeding ground for Carlton.

Here is a Article on him

Hmmmn i watch a fair few Claremont games,
He's a gun, hard bodied, in and under extracts the ball but can run past on the outisde.

His kicking effeciency can be down but i think this is because he hacks it out of the middle often Ala Josh P. Kennedy
I still think he is a passable kick around the ground

You look at people like Zorko who dominated his comeptition, won back to back to back to back best and fairests at his club etc. Mitchell is only just starting to emerge, has always been good but stepped it up this year so im not too sure about what stance to take. Is he on the verge of going to the next level or is this his plateau and he'll be a very good state player for years to come.

Sorry I do have a form of Dyslexia. I sometimes misspell words and flip letter in reverse.

Don't worry about it dude, we all make mistakes, we're just having a bit of fun.

To answer your question regarding mature age recruits, I think we may go for another one imo, probably a small defender.

Given how well Duigan worked out for us, it wouldn't surprise me if we do pick up another mature-age bloke. I don't know anything about this particular guy, but given that he sounds like a good inside mid, so it might depend on whether we pick up Caddy. If we do get Caddy, then we may not really be in the market for another rookie inside mid. I'll read the article you linked in a minute.

Of those that played in the VFL today, Noonan and Dwyer would be the two most likely to get a chance, with Burstin also a chance. I reckon there will be a few clubs trying to snaffle Burbury and Simpkin from Geelongs rookie list.

Good Post :thumbsu: What about Kane from Port Melbourne, ive seen a few Port games over the last few years and have always been impressed with him, i wonder why no one has ever even rookied him?

Mitchell will not stand up to the heat of the AFL, soft outside player with good endurance. Would spend his time in the VFL.

Same skill set as Dennis Armfield with out the toughness and fight of Dennis.

We seem to have omitted the most important detail for any draftee...

Did he support Carlton as a kid???

From what I've seen this year I like woffinden(?) from Port Melbourne, he's 19 and can seriously break the lines
