Great stats, but needs consistency. I'm a big fan, not only because of the man he is, but he has football ability aswell, as shown by those stats!

O'Donnell must have read the thread/post by Moo her on BF a month or so a go outlining how the dockers could improve their clearance rate at stoppages

Quoting o'donnell from the WCE Worst:

"In the structures at stoppages, he needs to be the key figure. He needs to be organising the players and be very vocal - working hard with the on-ballers to make sure that the structures are right.

"It is a maturity thing and we expect it of him.

This exactly what Moo was saying. They always think that they(footy dept) are the font of all the footy knowlege. Bulldust!! well done Moo!!

I'm sure they have been reading BF, Whtp etc.

211 showed marked improvement last season and seems to thrive on the challenge of improving himself.

Alot of people around the footy world are wandering around with omelettes on their faces as they reckoned 211 would struggle to get in the Freo best 22.

Now if only we could add the aggression of TI into 211, he would be one hell of a force.

I know stats don't always tell the story - but they can help...

Sandilands' stats since his debut in 2003:

2003
Age: 20
Games: 19
Marks: 56
Av marks/game: 2.94
Disposals: 137
Av disposals/game: 7.21
Hitouts: 353
Av HO/game: 18.58

2004
Age: 21
Games: 20
Marks: 61
Av marks/game: 3.05
Disposals: 172
Av disposals/game: 8.6
Hitouts: 473
Av HO/game: 23.65

2005
Age: 22
Games: 18
Marks: 74
Av marks/game: 4.11
Disposals: 187
Av disposals/game: 10.4
Hitouts: 414
Av HO/game: 21.79

He has improved every year he has played. He's only 23. He's 7' tall. He's entering his 4th year in the AFL. He will get better...

The potential of 211 is very scary for us non Freo supporters.
The improvement in Sandilands in the second half of the 2005 season was enormous.
Some people talk about the first 1/4 of the Port game, but I was at the Saints game in rnd 21.Sandilands was fantastic that day.Distinctly remember a 25m tap from a center bounce that hit Hasleby without him having to break stride.
Just turned 23 at 211cms,you guys have a lot to look forward to

I agree - most of us have been quietly confident / sucking in the jeers and derisive comments from other teams' (particularly weags) supporters about his lesser performances...

Just to provide some comparison, here are the stats for J-Lo in his first 3 years of AFL:

2000
Av disposals per game: 7.8
Av marks per game: 2.2
Av HO per game: 8.1

2001
Av disposals per game: 12.8
Av marks per game: 4.3
Av HO per game: 11.3

2002
Av disposals per game: 10.4
Av marks per game: 5
Av HO per game: 4.6

and in 2004/5 alongside Sandi, he's averaged 14.1 disposals; 5 marks and 10.6 hitouts per game.
