The problem with Mike, is I'm pretty sure he had to use all his tournament winnings to pay back a lot of debts.

The good thing about Mike is he doesn't dance around it. He'll tell you himself he's broke. It ****es me off when people rag on him about being a "coke head" and all the usual ****. It takes a big man to admit his mistakes, and Mike has frequently admitted them.

And he's a nice guy. Watch "the mouthpiece" on WSOP. While he does needle the players, he makes a point to stop and sign autographs for the fans, even to go so far as saying I'll come back and find you when I finish the video.

"Mike is generous with his friends and with his time. He is generous to a fault, and sometimes friends take advantage of him. He never says no to anybody."

I think quote says it all. After all, you have to be a nice guy to befriend someone for a year and have them turn around and turn out to be a narc.

He's got a lot of Stu Unger in him.

I heard an interview once and someone said that if people knew just how many people in poker had drug problems, they would be devestated. It's disappointing that Mike takes the brunt of it, and nobody gives him the benefit of the doubt, just because his story went public.

If you watch him play there are definitely two Mike Matusow's.

The normal, mellow Mike and the coked up, hyper Mike.

There's two Mikes during any given hand - TOC last year he absolutely verbally annihilates Helmuth and then tries to hug him when he wins a race.

No better poker TV when Mike's on song.

Mike vs Shieky was one of my all time faves.

Mike and Phil are good friends away from the cameras. So I wouldn't take their attacks on one another on TV too seriously.

How crazy was that? Couldnt believe a relative nobody was absolutely mouthing off against Helmuth and not only that Helmuth backed down and wanted to shake his hand. It was unbelievable.
