Well done Max. I must admit I didn't think too much of him when we drafted him but wow he's gonna be a superstar. Just watching him run through the middle and lace out a pass to Tex I'm wondering, when he builds his tank, can he play in the middle?

Just a thought I had..Port a couple of years back had Lachy Jones who qualified via their academy who went at a similar number to Max and Lachy was seen to be rated quite highly going into the draft as a hard nosed defender / mid. Watching him flounder like he has done and so far watching Max just look composed and show real footy smarts.....we really have got lucky here

Lever was quality from the start and we knew he was going to be a very good player after a handful of games just like with MM but he seem to be more attacking and a better kick (I can see him develop like Day has), Lever is a better mark.

The key was that we as a club were going so badly when he was draft eligible that no one at the AFL bothered to delve into Jim's games tally properly or to change the eligibility rules on us

I called it early on Game Day.

I’d say the Blues are going as good as anyone currently going around. They have arguably the top 4 forward line in the league. Can see them ending up top 4 this season if they can keep their standard trajectory.

Losing isn’t going to end any perceptions after this round, but as long as we continue to play that same brand of attacking footy we’ve done all year, then I’d be satisfied. If we do maintain our forward form, and at home, we have a solid chance of a relatively surprising win.

I’m starting to think he may be used more than just as a defender. Seems capable of playing in midfield/wing as well as stints up forward. He has genuine attacking flair that I’m loving.
