Should be served in the NAB cup and the NAB cup only. Even if we went out next round, his suspension should carry over to future pre-season competitions. I am absolutely furious about this decision by the MRP, how does Maxwell get 3 and setanta get 4?F***ing JOKE!

COLLINGWOOD has decided to challenge captain Nick Maxwell's three-week ban for engaging in rough contact against West Coast's Patrick McGinnity in the first quarter of Saturday night's NAB Cup clash at Subiaco Oval.

Maxwell risks a four-week ban if the appeal is unsuccessful.

The charge followed Maxwell's solid boundary-line hit on McGinnity that left the Eagles youngster with a broken jaw.

The tribunal hearing will be held next Tuesday, February 17, because the Magpies are involved in their annual Telstra AFL Community Camp for the next two days.
