To be fair, The Goo was a very talented footballer. Just didn't have the right frame of mind to be an AFL footballer. Could have been anything if he got his head right.

Athleticism was his strongest point.
It shows that to make it in football, you have to have at least reasonable base in broad range of facets (except pure academic IQ)
But motivation and persistance are probably the most important attributes to whether you "make it or not".

Agree. He was a pretty strong mark of the ball though, and was pretty handy as a defender in what little games he played there. I think he was mentally shot after the Polak incident though, and it messed him around a fair bit.
