Hmm mixed feelings on this, think we could have kept Tunbridge and Bennell on the rookie list for one more year each. Happy the Governator got elevated and hopefully he cracks a game next year.

Looks like Sinclair won't be traded now either

I'm the same Kane, not sure why we're so keen to throw around senior list spots like that.

I'm especially cautious after we rushed to elevate Dick last year and well we know how that panned out

Precisely what I was thinking, and thankyou for not throwing in a cheap Dick joke.

It seems odd list management to me. Can other clubs pinch players off our rookie list? In other words, if we'd kept Tunbridge on our rooie list, could another club have offered him a senior list position?

A 3rd year Rookie can say no to being on the list so yes another team could pinch them. Tunbridge and Mcgovern i am fine with...but Bennell who i think will be handy player could have stayed as rookie for another year. Glad we didn't upgrade Sinclair too. Maybe Kerr is retiring so that we have 3 spots? 1 which i think will be used to gain Yeo...Maybe we are looking to trade some other players for picks...Smith, Rosa maybe?

So we now only have 3 Picks in the draft and one will no doubt be used on Yeo...so i do hope we make some more space otherwise we only have 2 draft picks.
each club needs to have a minimum of 3 draft picks... or has that been scrapped? or does a rookie elevation count as a draft pick?

trade/draft/psd/rookie rules change every year. too hard to keep up to date.

It now counts.

If we only add yeo and Pick 6 i do not feel like the list has been given a freshen up...even if we get some more rookies.

Rookie elevation counts as a pick these days.

I think rookie elevations count as 'draft picks', you have to turn at least three players over on the senior list.

Yes I agree, would like to see at least three draft picks (not including rookie picks)

Mmmm maybe we delist or trade Dalziel ?

I seriously want at least 2 picks and another for yeo.

Draft is meant to be pretty weak after pick 30 anyway.

So if we can have to picks under 30 and use pick 40 in Yeo that could work.

cheers lads. thought rookie picks count.

people on here have wraps on mcgovern and we had to elevate him this year yeah? first year on the rookie list was 2011 from memory.

tunbridge showed enough that he will get games next year so a given.

not really sure as to the reason for elevating bennell. seems a bit pointless to me. would have rathered a pick in the national draft for a spot on the senior list then replacing bennell with someone in the rookie draft.

Hmm...
McGovern makes sense.
Tunbridge and bennell less so, unless they are expected to play a role in the team next year which I could then understand. However such an idea makes little sense seeing as we have no coach currently. I think a lot of signs are pointing to a Burns appointment...

Anyway, I think with this in mind I would like one or two more players out the door. If Kerr is indeed retiring and we decide to rookie list Newman I think this choice could be some what justified.

Ideally would like us to have 4 picks (or 3 and Yeo).

FYI I am not against the idea of Tunbridge and Bennell having a role in the team next year.

Could these elevations be a pre curser to 1 or 2 de listings? to give us 3-4 actual fresh draftees this off season

Bennell was playing pretty solid footy for SD at the end of this season. I was surprised he didn't get any games for the Eagles - another of the Worsfold mysteries, perhaps protecting him because he was coming back from an ACL. Would have to be close to best 22 as the small defender. Good kick, makes good decisions and doesn't panic. A talented player IMO.

Yeh bit hasty... oh well. Woosha knows best...

O WAIT

Strangely, I agree with these decisions, and I was against, wait for it, wait for it, Dick being elevated last year. :D
We'd want Tunbridge to be able to play games next year, that tells me, same for Bennell. McLovin we had to elevate or let go.

If you offer them a rookie contract you they can't senior listed without a trade or being drafted. If a rookie isn't offered a contract i'm pretty sure they're free agents like other delisted players.

My guess is that Newman is certainly gone from the senior list which means two picks in the national draft + Yeo. Kerr potentially retires which would make it three picks in the national draft on top of Yeo.
