Colin Carter calls a general press conference.
Industry is in a state of turmoil re Covid, the season is starting etc plenty of reasons
Question is asked re Stephens incident.
Colin answered the incident is under police review and when all of the facts have been established they will give a thorough report.
Understandably this is a delicate situation and the players welfare is their only concern at this stage
McGuire breaks protocols and asks about an opposition player in an inappropriate way
McGuire attacks Geelong for calling a conference and not answering a question they are rightfully unable to do so
McGuire insists his stance is correct. These are not the way these things are handled
Carter rightfully says McGuire should apologise and that his position is compromised
McGuire is unrelenting and says the biggest conflict in the history of the game is Carter going from the AFL to Geelong with all of the intel
No facts to say Colin behaved inappropriately (red herring)
Robo is the only person who rightfully asks McGuire the hard questions. Other commentators are very hesitant to do so.
McGuire bullies the argument. He is given several examples re Collingwoods handling of players like Beams which contradict his position
McGuire then attacks our fixturing with flawed arguments.
Carter is defended by all as being an honourable man.
The facts are:
I can now see why the industry is compromised in its operations, media and support.
A bully is only given the power you give him
McGuire is compromised in the positions he holds
McGuire has a distorted view of things depending on the situation
McGuire is powerful in the media world to the extent that other commentators do not want to take him on.
Thank God for Robbo.
Collingwood benefits because of the McGuire factor
McGuire may have a clenched fist in the industry but the rank and file supporters think it is time for a change.
We thank the Geelong Club for being a moral compass in the industry.

I dont disagree with much of what you have posted here - but I suggest the last line be adjusted. Suggesting the GFC are a moral compass wont end well.
In this case, yes.. but it wont be perceived that way.
Its a signture that will become a shit fight.

Id adjust it IMO.

The rest you have laid out clearly and as I posted, i agree with.

Good on Carter for calling Eddie McGuire out on his hypocrisy! It’s about time someone stood up to Eddie’s bullyboy tactics thinking he and Collingwood run the show on everything.

**** him! and **** Collingwood!

And Eddie had better get the asbestos undies on... De Goey facing charges over this 2019 driving incident.... but he calls us out for not front and centreing Steven for the media.

this could not be better positioned for a brutal come uppence to Eddie. I do feel bad however the JDG will be the cannon fodder in this.

It was only a matter of time before something reared its head.
McGuire's press conferences from now on will be interesting.

Pardon me if the following piece about motor mouth has been posted. Really shows the hypocrite up.

Wasn't really like that though. That was more Uncle Rupert demanding a proper stadium for the Storm.
He gets what he wants every time. The proper NBN sure would've been handy around now.
