Anyone else agree his performance in the forward line on Sunday was good? Maybe a more permanent role up forward?

I don't think it will be a permanent role, but something we may see a bit more of.

No doubt that the Bulldogs would have been planning to tag McPhee, and having him start forward gave us a fair bit of unpredictability. The Bulldogs lack of dangerous forwards allowed us to use McPhee in a different role.

I think it will very much be a horses for courses scenario, but it does give us a very valuable weapon.

.

Agree with that comment completely, said it myself to some mates today. Anyway, McPhee just looked so good there, reminded some what of his 4 goal game back in 2003 against West Coast when he played up forward for a lot of that game.

anyone read gary lyons article in the herald sun

apparently if we are to make the eight, mcphee, hird, lucas and lloyd must be in our forward line

I remember when he sealed the game vs the Crows at AAMI last season when swung forward.

Looks very capable up there, but i'd prefer him back for the most part because he can just dominate.

Guess it just depends on the opposition, several clubs who play 3-4 tall forwards will stretch our defence and Mcphee will be needed. However it is great to have him as an option to go forward.

That's not what he said. He said we're not going to make the eight with Lucas and Lloyd being our only major targets. Proposed a forward rotation scheme.

Vrey good article, I thought.
