When is too much ... too much?

Is Karl Norman's messy house and unpaid rent an AFL story? Does it reflect badly on the club or on the sport?

I can understand rape allegations being a concern because they clearly put a black mark against footballers and the AFL. I can understand drunken exploits being highlighted to a certain extent because they happen in public and these guys are role models.

But unpaid rent and some damage to a rental home happens in private. Should we be concerned or is it all just a ridiculous beatup?

Having read more about it, the damage is a lot more than I first heard. Does anyone know when this took place? I hope it wasn't after the last time Karl got in trouble.

I believe it was during December, if i remember correctly

What right does this woman have to publicise his wage and what car he drives on page 3 of the Herald-Scum?
For Norman to get all the blame is ridiculous when he had a roommate who could have done this. I doubt and I may be wrong that Norman was responsible for the alleged cigarette burns. Because if he smokes when employed as a professional footballer and athlete he's a bigger dill than he's already appears to be.

Okay. I thought it was resolved in December but wasn't sure when the eviction took place. Disappointing to say the least but my sensibilities can't decide whether it has anything to do with the club or not.

I can tell you that over the Xmas holidays and the last week or so, while I have been stressing over finishing an application for the job I am currently acting in, I have forgotten to take rubbish out, done dishes infrequently, let the lawns grow wildly etc etc. Not to the extent of Karl and his mate obviously but the motivation to clean isn't huge when the rest of your life is so full. Not the usual situation and I do have good intentions but .....

Still found time to post on BigFooty though. ;)

Absolute beat-up.

This type of incident would happen hunderes of times a week across the state, so why single out a footballer? To make matters worse, he did have a room-mate, who may very well have been responsible for some or most of the alleged damage.

Page 3 of the Herald-Sun, my goodness.

So yes, maybe some people look up to AFL footballers as "role models", but:
a) I doubt many look to Karl Norman as a role model at this stage of his career; and
b) It's not like it is a rape allegation or drink driving offence or something of a very serious nature.

Just the media looking for a story, if you ask me.

Karl Norman was living at my place when he was drafted to Carlton. I can honestly say that he was great, not messy, quite the opposite in fact, and always payed up his board. He never damaged anything whilst he was living there and he wouldn't even invite people around unless he asked myself or my other housemate. So I think all of what this woman has said is bull******** and it was probably trashed by someone else.

Also he drove a XE Falcon then and didn't earn very much money!

If was Karl Norman I would get those rotten prawn's heads that were apparently left in a garbage bag out the front of the house and put them in that cow's letterbox.
