Given everything going on atm in the footy world there is a new-world media hysteria in all things great and small and it wont go away in a hurry.

This thread is designed for any AFL related media discussion you might wish to share.

I'll kick things off...

For those who missed it, this was released by the AGE yesterday:

Ex-Hawk in deal to sell peptides - Nick McKenzie, Richard Baker and Caroline Wilson

FORMER Hawthorn and All Australian player Trent Croad was involved in a peptide supply deal linked to an outlaw bikie gang, in the latest revelation to emerge in the sport supplement scandal.

The sources said the former Hawthorn premiership player had confided to friends that late last year he had met figures associated with the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang. The meeting was at the Olsen Hotel in Melbourne and was in connection to a deal involving the sale by Croad of a large amount of peptides to be sourced from Sydney.

Today on the AFL website:

Croad to sue Fairfax for defamation

TRENT Croad's lawyers say they will take legal action against sections of the media following a report on Tuesday morning that linked the former Hawk to "a peptide supply deal" and "an outlaw bikie gang".

A statement sent to AFL.com.au from Croad's management on Tuesday night said the 32-year-old had been "grossly defamed and the subject of reprehensible defamation" in a front-page story published in The Age newspaper.

The report claimed Croad, an All Australian and Hawthorn premiership player, had been scrutinised by the Australian Crime Commission as part of its investigation into drugs and organised crime in sport.

This bit particularly interesting:

"Trent will now sue all involved in The Publication and all repetitors of the false and defamatory allegations within this baseless story.

Good to see our old dear friend involved in all of this. Not to comment on the legal standings here but it appears evident that someone might be called to account on their sources and be a little pre-occupied for a while none the less.

Where's the popcorn?
