Didn't see much of DeLuca but I know that Meesen was forced to play most of his footy in the ruck as Falcons had no-one else. I guess this means he couldn't go forward for a rest.
Geelong put in a fair effort this year but fell about 100 goals short of Calder. Maric can play a bit and with the ball being regularly sent forward he would always be a chance to snag a few.
But I don't think Maric is as dominant around the ground. Saw him a few times this year and he often went forward, apparently because Neaves proved a better option against some opponents. Against Gippsland in the prelim for instance, although Calder won by plenty, first Foster then Meyer creamed the Calder rucks, although Neaves hung in there while Maric went forward.
