Interesting sidenote:
A Collingwood-supporting elder lady on the train said she was talking to Thorold Merrett (ex-Pies Champ and Brownlow medal winner) during the week. Thorold mentioned that David Cloke is trying to engineer a move to Carlton for Travis. He and Julie feel that Collingwood have done the wrong thing by them and that Carlton would be a happier home for their boys. Absolute knobs. Let the kids live their lives....

..if there is any truth in that then that would be the pinnacle for mine .

Seriously ... if Travis Cloke was on the market due to these reasons , you would not touch him with a ten foot barge pole . I am hugely relieved that they have no involvement at Punt Rd. , they are poison .

You would bend yourselves over backwards to recruit them only to have them walk out on you two years later over money or some triviality . Loyalty goes as far as the fattest cheque book with that lot .

i cant cannot beleive one of the reviews i read of the game was jsut talking about how much of an embarrassment we are are and how lucky we were to win, cant remember where i saw it though

On the subject of Thursfield, gee he is out there proving something this season.

IDGAF is on the money. His closing speed is phenomenal.

And how many of those that say now he is great were saying earlier in the season we shouldnt have kicked out Gaspar.

Not sure how you arrive at that conclusion, Mooney kicked four goals. As good as the man has been he was beaten that day even if only through the quantity of delivery.

Totally agree ... and being such a "leadership figure" at the time down at punt rd. , it begs the question how many sheep simply followed his lead ?
