I will be in Melbourne from 30th June till the 5th July and am interested in going to the Bendigo match in Port Melbourne. Can anyone give me details on how to get to the PM game by tram/train? I also want to go to Windy Hill so the same details would be appreciated.

Also, why do Essendon vs Kangaroos tickets at Telstra Dome cost so much? I am after 2 adult tickets and i cannot find any under $75 for both of us.

Thanks

I feel sorry for all Telstra Dome tenants, compared with the G the hassle to get in and cost is excessive. Sure the stadium is great but the cost is just silly. Even if you have a membership it seems as though you get slugged booking fees etc.

I reckon Essendon made a huge mistake relocating to TD.

Enjoy your trip to Melbourne. Sorry I couldn;t answer your questions though.

To get to Port Melbourne get on a 109 and take it to "North Port", which is within walking distance of TEAC oval. I think the 109s go down Collins St.

For the North game I'd almost consider going early and buying at the gate. I don't think the game will sell out. I've never not been able to get into a game at TD this way and I just paid the normal $18 or so for level 3 seats.

Thanks for that.

How early do i have to get to the ground to buy tickets? Can you see the game well from level 3?

Also how do i get too Windy Hill by tram/train?

Broadmeadows train from Flinders St to Essendon Station.
or
Airport West tram from Elizabeth St to Essendon Junction.

Both take you to pretty much the same spot, 200m walk up Napier St to Windy Hill.

When you're looking for tix on the TM7 website, don't select "BEST AVAILABLE - ALL SECTIONS" - make this option on Level 1 or Level 3 and you will find cheaper tickets.

If you have a computer with a printer at home you can get your tickets a little cheaper. Simply purchase concession tickets ( your never required to show a concession card and simply scan your ticket at the turnstile. If your really after a bargain and feeling game then buy a childrens ticket. Once again you scan your barcode and the turnstile opens! He He

just dont get caught..the operators have a screen right there that says "concession" or "junior" depending on what type of ticket has been scanned.

Haha yeah i bought a concession ticket for the game against Adelaide over here and they asked for my card as i was going through. Ofcourse i didn't have one, so they said i had to pay an extra $10 but i ended up getting out of it.

I tried ordering tickets on the ticketmaster website for 2 concession but it is still very expensive. I might just get tickets from the ground before the match.

What days will essendon train leading up too the kangaroos game?

Thanks for all the help.

Being conservative - 1 hour early and you won't have a problem - absolute minimum of 30 minutes.

Level 3 is the best level to watch the footy IMO. You feel like you are right in the thick of the action, but are high enough up to see all the play being set up.

Also, never get your tickets at the Bourke St side of the ground..

Allmost 80% of the crowd comes over the bridge from Spencer St and the station and most just go to the first ticket windows as you get there. This means huge queues while other windows at other entrances are virtually empty.

If I'm buying tix on the day, I always walk around the sides to other entrances.

If you check out the TD website, you'll find the Gate 3 ticket windows open at 12pm and you can get $17.50 tickets there. Then go off and enjo the rest of the day, then walk into the gate at 6:45 and straight to your seat.

Ok well i will definietly buy my tickets at gate 3 then. Sounds like the best option to me. Thanks for all the help.
