Did anyone attend the Luncheon held at the MCG today for people who donated over $500 to the Debt Demolition? If you did, what happened?

I got an invite but couldn't make it because of work, who can make a 2 & 1/2 hour lunch on a Tuesday?!?

Was there any extra money earned at the function?

You missed a great day!

We did raise more money, a similar thing happened to what happened at the dinner a few weeks back. Amounts were read out and you sat down when it got to the figure you were willing to donate. Obviously I dont have the exact figure but there was at least 100 to 150 thousand raised. Stynes said he was very confident we would hit 3 mil by the end of next week.

Stynes, Bailey, Connoly and Schwab all spoke..

Off field- Stynes and Schwab spoke about getting rid of the debt, making the club stable to a point were its not loosing money and building from there. Business plans were being put in place. They also spoke about getting back to grass roots football which has a lot to do with the Casey deal, we should here about that very soon. Stynes mentioned the club is in discussions with the MCC to repair things from the past, we should here about that in the not too distant future, sounded fairly promising.

For those of you that want to know the details of business plans and the Casey Deal he did not go into that, Although he did say that stake holders of the club and those that have tipped In BIG cash know whats going on.

On Field- Bailey and Connoly talked a lot about developing a young core group and drafting well. Building a young group that will grow together. Jeff White and Adem Yze were fare welled which was a bit sad, both were in attendance.

They had footgae from the debt demolition night a few weeks back which looked like an amazing night! Footage of Gary Lyon giving a speech that sent shivers down you, very stirring. Also footage of Baileys pre game address was impressive, saw a hole new side to bails.

Overall It was a very good day with plenty of red and blue passion.

Cheers

What was on the menu?

Entree was some sort of gnocchi and feta thing

Main was either chicken with some sort of sauce or beef shanks with roast potato.

Desert was something that looked and tasted like a can of sweetened condensed milk tipped onto a plate with a bit of apricot!

Do I pass the test

great run-down.

Thanks mate!

On a serious note, how many people do you estimate were there?

And just to clarify, everyone attending had already tipped in +$500, and some people made more donations on the day?

I'd say about 250-300 people and yes everyone attending had already tipped in $500, and some people made more donations on the day.
