Membership Target Reached

We have reached our season target of 24,280 and the club is now pushing for 25000. I thought you couldnt sell any more after Round 11? Im guessing its a later round but it must be close. The GFC website has our tally at 24,738.
Anyhow well done

The cut-off date is June 15, so we still have this weekend to sell a few more.

I was thinking the exact same thing! But anyway, it’s a sensational achievement to break the target, albeit a very small target.

Anyone got a final total? Did we break the magical 25,000 members?

The poor showing against Carlton in round 2 would have hurt the numbers.

I hadn't renewed my membership at that stage, and received a call from the club after that game asking why. Bad timing. The poor kid given the job of chasing recalcitrant members copped an undeserved anti-Thompson spray.

Happy to have egg on my face at the halfway mark, though.

Yes! According to the website now we have 25,010.

There's probably a lot of interstate members who have full membership.

1. We would have a fair amount of interstate members – obviously they won’t be there.
2. Not every Geelong member can make every game. We would have abundance that missed a game or two annually.
3. Some members are country or Melbourne members that would only attend games in Melbourne or the occasional match in Geelong.
4. You will find that a fair portion of the members who attend every match have a season reserved seat. No ticket problems for that vast number of fans.
5. Skilled Stadium’s capacity will be upgraded next season with the addition of the new grandstand allowing more people in. Problem solved.
